What are your thoughts on this? As a saddle fitter I have a strong opinion. I believe that many people are using a larger gullet than what is needed for their horse. They are so fixated on the gullet size they forget to incorporate the rest of the saddle in their saddle fit (angle and rock). A saddle that is to wide for your horse will not distribute the weight evenly and can cause the majority of the weight towards the front of the saddle just as a narrow saddle does or flat along their spine. The area along the spine is a sensitive area and can cause pain along the pressure points all the way down to the hocks. It can be trickier to identify a saddle that is too wide than one that is too narrow. If you are finding you need to shim the front of your saddle, that likely means it is too wide or it has too much rock. Who has experienced a saddle that has been to wide or has a saddle they think doesn't fit their horse? We want to hear your story. Please share your story and this post.

Tires Expire in Six Years - Tire Safety Group

The evidence is clear: tires expire after six years. This is because tires are made mostly of rubber, and rubber degrades with age.

It's time to start loading up and hauling to your favorite riding spot. Make sure your animals are safe in that trailer of yours. Did you know that we offer truck and trailer inspections and repairs? Did you also know that the most neglected items on your trailer are the tires and brakes? Just because they have tread on them yet doesn't mean that they aren't dry rotted from sitting. We sell and install tires and brakes. We also do general repairs, wiring and welding. One call can take care of it all. Pickup and delivery, or on site service available. We offer Certified DOT inspections for those of you that need them.

Call us @ (612) 212-6600 to make an appointment. Leave a message and we'll call you back ASAP!

Happy Trails!
