🐎 Side View (Top Row)
The diagram shows what the hind legs look like from the side when you drop an imaginary vertical line from the point of the buttock to the ground.
Correct (A) –
The line passes straight down the back of the leg and touches the hoof correctly.
✅ Ideal alignment → efficient movement and good balance.
Sickle Hocked (B) –
The hocks are too bent under the body.
⚠️ May cause strain on tendons and hock joints.
Post Legged (C) –
The legs are too straight with very little bend at the hock.
⚠️ Leads to stiffness and higher risk of joint injury.
Camped Under (D) –
The entire leg is positioned too far under the body.
⚠️ Reduces pushing power and may cause fatigue or soreness in the back.
