It’s been a VERY busy past couple of months!

For those of you that don’t know, I am 31 weeks pregnant so I am starting to slow down. I will still take a limited amount of horses (probably 3-5, depending where you are) per week for the next few weeks and then I will be done until July more than likely. So if your horses are needing teeth done let’s get them on the books before I go out for a small maternity leave!

Busy day full of babies yesterday! Pulled a few caps and a couple of wolf teeth!

That before/after picture is of a 2 year old. Babies need their teeth done too!

I did this horse in October but she was throwing her head last weekend so I took a look at her again and found a little stick imbedded between her incisors! I’m betting she’ll feel a little bit better now!

A nice little before and after!

You can see the cuts the buccal points (sharp points up against the cheek) were leaving in this gelding’s cheek in the before picture! Glad we got him taken care of before the harsh winter weather gets here!

Had an interesting one the other day! This horse was eating and holding weight great, the only sign was she would throw her head when they would mess with her mouth (putting a bit in her mouth, etc). You can see the scars these teeth left on the inside of her cheek (circled)!

Here is a good example of why even older horses need teeth care! The enamel stays strong while the rest of the tooth wears away, creating a sharp point up against the tongue!

I have a client that had a horse go from a dead head trail horse to uncontrollable about 2 years ago. They had his teeth done TWICE by a vet within the last two years and this is what I opened up his mouth to. 208 was non existent from the 308 cutting up and wearing it away, and the 108 protruded down into the 408 to the point of it being non existent. Also opened up their 20 year old horse that has been done yearly by the same vet and it still had a wolf tooth.

Got a message today that the horse that was uncontrollable, is back to his old self.

This post is not bashing vets at all. It is simply showing, a specialist can sometimes fix things what SOME vets, cannot. Do your research on vets and take a look for yourself inside their mouth! If this isn’t proof that TEETH MATTER then I don’t know what is!

We’re having a dental day at Reflections Arena in Festus Missouri on September 30th!

People normally skip dentals yearly because they cannot see what is inside the mouth, here are a few pictures to show you just how bad they can get if they go without dentals!

Do your horse a favor and get their teeth checked out!
