We want to take a moment to address a recent article that listed Kimi’s Precious Treasures among the “worst breeders.” We understand how concerning that sounds, and we feel it’s important to share the full context.
During an inspection in October 2025, two concerns were noted. The first was less than 4 inches of rust on the bottom (ground level) of the tin siding on the outside of a kennel building. This was addressed and fully fixed in less than seven days, and the state inspector gave the OK for our state license to be sent. The second issue involved selling to a broker without a USDA license. Once this was explained to us, we immediately stopped all broker sales and made the decision moving forward to only sell directly to families. We chose not to pursue another USDA license and instead focus on connecting our puppies with homes ourselves.
Our dogs are well cared for, kept in clean kennels that exceed minimum requirements, and are regularly brought into our home for interaction and care. Like all responsible breeders, kennels are necessary for safety, cleanliness, and proper management, but they are maintained with our dogs’ health and comfort as the top priority.
Since then, we’ve made additional changes, including reducing the number of dogs we have to ensure each one receives even more individual attention. We are also in the process of rehoming our three adult Golden Retrievers, after which we will no longer be breeding Goldens.
We take pride in what we do and care deeply about our animals. We are always open to questions, conversations, and even visits from those who want to see how our dogs are raised. Transparency matters to us.
