EARNINGS UPDATE: After the 2026 Iowa Ranch Horse Futurity Show, Spanky has surpassed $14k in earnings! Winning the Open 2 Year Old Ranch Trail and Non Pro 2 Year Old Ideal Class, plus a Reserve in the Non Pro 2 Year Old Ranch Trail, put him at $8,718.23 for his 2026 earnings.
Trained by World Champion, Wyatt Hansen, he was started right and has not been pushed. Spanky’s been ridden outside the arena more than in one. Down the road, thru the cows, out in the hayfield and on the trails, he handles it all in stride and he does not change even when his surroundings do.
He has been started on flying lead changes, spins and sliding stops, and he is a natural for the ranch trail and ranch riding. His versatility as a show horse is limitless. As a yearling he won the Yearling Conformation Class at the Ranch Horse Extravaganza & Futurity, and the Yearling Prospect Trail at the Iowa Ranch Horse Futurity; the judges can’t ignore him.
