We had an awesome first show of the season at the ODS Spring Warm Up show at Brave Horse in Johnstown, Ohio! It was beautiful show weather at a beautiful facility.

It was the first ever show for Mary Snodgrass and her own Hitachi HD (Frankie) who started out quite impressed with the whole competition atmosphere. Green to the show arena (this was only Frankie's second show of this life) Mary did an amazing job piloting and giving him the confidence he needed each day. After working through some tension and an equipment mishap they ended the weekend with a 72% and a 73% at Training 2 & 3.

Leah and Orion debuted their incredibly fun Grand Prix Freestyle (which they received less than 2 weeks prior to the show!) with scores of 69% & 70%. It seemed to be a crowd favorite and we're incredibly grateful to Karen Robinson of Applause Dressage for designing this gem for us. A big thank you to Carole Grant for the wonderful coaching at this show but also throughout the long Michigan winter!

Last but not least, a huge thank you to Hannah Willford who competed at the Kentucky Horse Park Friday and Saturday and made it to Brave Horse by Saturday afternoon to help with keeping us on time and looking beautiful-- we so appreciate you!

Happy Spring! ☀️ We're getting back into the rhythm of show season after a winter of training and are thankful for the warmer weather and the chance to finally get out of the indoor arena.

We had an early start to show season with Opal & Charlie kicking us off at the Hunter's Run Derby where they had their best dressage score to date and only added (planned) time faults to their cross country. So proud of this pair and a big thank you to Hannah Willford for providing support with the jumping side of things.

End of show season recap!

Leah and Orion attended USDF Region 2 Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park competing in the Open Grand Prix and placing 8th. Although not the outcome we had hoped for it's still always a privilege to ride and compete at this level!

We also attended the final show at Aberdeen Farm at the end of September--
Kristen Fe**er Peroni's "GoodBoy Charlie" competed in his first dressage show with scores to 71%+ and was Reserve Champion at Training Level with Leah.

Jennifer Herron and her own Kingston earned a personal best score at Second Level test 3 and were Reserve Champion at Second Level as well.

We had a wonderful last show at Waterloo Summer Finale before Region 2 Championships!

Leah and Orion improved scores and gained more experience in the Grand Prix with a 63% & 65%.

Leah also debuted Barbara Martin's Cristal (Luna) at Third Level with scores of 62% & 66%. Congratulations to Barb, it's a testament to the work she does at home and the rideability of Luna as Leah typically only rides Luna once per week.

Last weekend Jennifer & Scott Hunt hosted us at their beautiful Hunt Meadows Farm for a fabulous weekend of training Fritz and Orion with Carole Grant. We’re chipping away at the Grand Prix with Orion and Fritz continues to develop his strength and balance in the collected work. Feeling very blessed to have the opportunity to get some intense training in this winter!
