Dogs can hear frequencies up to 65,000 Hz (humans tap out around 20,000 Hz) and have 18 muscles controlling their ears to pinpoint exactly where a sound is coming from.
So yes... your dog absolutely heard you say "bath," "crate," and "leave it" from three rooms away.
They just chose not to respond.
