Introductions are due! As many know I have now opened 2 locations. And although many people think we are the same person, I cannot be in 2 places at once. And so a 2nd instructor was needed. Everyone meet Serina, my amazing niece and trusted riding instructor. She has taken on giving lessons at my Salem location. Serina has been riding since she was little in the south of Norway, trained in mostly English she learned to jump and work with horses over there for many years. Serina has also come to the U.S. to ride and learn western for a few summers with me,m. With some help I convinced her to move here and learn more. She ended up staying and making a profession out of it. We are super excited to have her and the kids already love her too 🥰🐎💕

We have some big news 😍🎉 we are proud to present Morgan Creek Stables in Jefferson, OR. This is our new boarding facility and where I, Meghan, will be starting to give lessons. There will be possible clinics, camps and other fun things for our future here. In Salem my niece has been training to take over lessons on two of my horses. Slowly expanding on a dream I never knew would be possible. To say we’re excited is an understatement. More to come 🎉

✨Kate✨

Miss Kate has done so extremely well this past month! Her owners have also been coming out and working her multiple times a week and that is a huge help in her end too.

Here’s what Kate has accomplished:
* Turnout in different pastures - and being caught in each
* Being caught and handled by multiple people
* Standing tied while horses are being ridden
* Hard tying
* Working with other horses in the arena
* Walking over bridges
* Sending through and over objects
* Having all 4 feet picked up and cleaned out by multiple people
* Lunging both directions w/t
* Pole work
* Backing through and around objects
* Wearing a ba****ck pad
* The pick up trick
* Haunch & forehand turns
* Side passing
* No more pulling back while tied
* Had a flag all over her and walked over the flag too
* Can be fly sprayed without rearing
* Learning to trust and think before reacting

Next month goals, but not expectations:
- Standing nicely for the farrier
- Bridling
- Saddling
- Side-passing over a pole
- Ponying with another horse
- Haunch/forehand turns around objects and in a square
- Raised pole work
- W/t/c lunging both directions
- Tarp work

Kate has been such a fun horse to watch the light bulb click on, she has so much try and I’m excited to be able to have her for another month. Stay tuned for more updates on her 🤩

Cinders 🙌🏼 she is for sale!

This is her 2nd time with the flag, 1st time cantering with it!

Roping practice after a couple months off and pulling something new. Other fun things, she is super chill! I left in part where she was nervous and not sure about the jump standard on the ground - to show how she handles new things and situations. I have never asked her to walk over it before

Ronen has been learning to jump these past few months and is really starting to enjoy it 🙌🏼

Alrighty introductions are due for this lady! Meet Kate, an 11yr old South steens Mustang mare here for some basic and hopeful saddle training. She knows the very basics but needs help with her feet and being safe for her owners. Kate has been here just about a week and we’ve already accomplished a lot, she is very willing and has walked all around the property, over bridges, started on lunging, picked up all 4 feet and started with fly spray. She ties actually really well and enjoys being brushed. Kate was in the wild for 9 years and in domestic life for 2. She needs a little more time to think through things but once you let her she opens right up and wants pets. I’m excited to see her progress this month!
