Is anyone missing a male large black and tan dog? This dog looks like a long haired long tailed rottweiler. It a very large dog, but doesn't seem to want to leave the canyon on our property and we were not able to get a leash on him.Shivering I am in Bankhead springs.

We had an investigative journalist stay with us for two days last week. He is out of New York and doing an investigative story into California white sage. Very interesting for us and for him. He was a delightful guest and am looking forward to seeing him again in the spring.

Isn’t she beautiful in her natural state and not wrapped up in a bundle?!! END THE White Sage plant lust craze!

White Sage Salvia apiana has become such a popular thing in more recent times from companies selling smudge wands, making essential oils, perfumed body care products and perfume. The sad thing that this exploitation has created has been plant lust. People lusting over White Sage treating it like it’s the only plant that can do the work. This is creating the demand which has folks wildcrafting this plant.

It is overly wildcrafted putting it on the “to watch” species list of the it is not on the endangered-species list on be site however, plant lust is a serious threat.

If you follow my post you know the work I’ve been doing along with others to bring awareness of the exploitation and over harvesting of this plant. Not to mention the exploitation of the Indigenous People who have worked with this plant way before it became the “cool thing” in every new age, health food, boutique shop.

It makes me want to barf 🤮 when I read folks who spew on some enlightened post trying to sell their bundles portraying a sense of higher self and connected to Gaia by burning bundles of White Sage. First of all it doesn’t take an entire wand to get an effective smoke going. It takes a leaf or two at most.

Also GUESS WHAT, burning White Sage will not connect you to the earth. Wanna get connected? Get outdoors! Also burning White Sage will not drive them ghost out, clear vibes, uplift or make you anymore enlightened. 🙄 if you haven’t the connection or understanding, it’s not going to make things better.

Burning any aromatic plant will shift moods and raise vibrations not to mention literally cleanse the air due to their antimicrobial properties. You don’t need White Sage Per se. Good old Rosemary, Garden Sage, Thyme Lavender, pine needle wands, Sagebrush, juniper works and many are easy to grow or are in abundance.

Still have the plant lust? Grow your own!

Companies who are exploiting White Sage are Urban Outfitters Whole Foods Market Juniper Ridge Huckberry Walmart online. Cost Plus World Market

SUPPORT the growers of this plant if you can not grow your own. SageWinds Farm (sagewinds.us) Oshala Farm
