6 dogs, 4 clients, one full day of house-call pet grooming 🐾

Starting at 6:30 AM with a Maltipoo full groom, including a bath with whitening shampoo, then on to a monthly Doodle grooming appointment. After that, I headed across Jacksonville for two Shih Tzus, followed by two more dogs in St. Johns County - baths, blow-dries, haircuts, and full grooming along the way. 🐶✂️

Most of today’s pups are regular monthly clients, which always makes these busy grooming days special.

Finished the last pup around 7:30 PM and finally headed home for a well-earned sushi dinner made by my wife. ❤️🍣

A day in the life of a house-call pet groomer 🐾 Two cats, one Shih Tzu, and three very different grooming appointments.

My first cat needed a lion cut due to heavy matting, especially around the belly. After carefully clipping away the matted coat, I also did a paw and sanitary trim, cleaned the ears and eyes, and refreshed the coat with dry shampoo since a full bath wasn’t the best option for her.

Cat 2 started with a thorough de-shedding treatment, followed by a bath, shampoo, blow-dry, brushing, and finishing care. Both cats spend time outdoors, so at their owners’ request we left their claws natural for climbing and defense. 🐱

After a lunch break at home, it was time for the final dog grooming appointment of the day - a Shih Tzu bath, nail trim, and a practical summer haircut with a neat, rounded face. ✂️🐶

A day in the life of a house-call pet groomer 🐾 Four pups, two homes, and plenty of miles — starting with two Mini Saint Berdoodles for full grooming, including baths, haircuts, coat clipping, paw trimming, and finishing touches.

Later, it was a German Shepherd and a Belgian Malinois for baths, thorough shampooing and rinsing, blow-drying, and de-shedding treatments — with a few quick stops for pet grooming supplies between dogs.

After the last pup was groomed, I headed home to keep working on my mobile grooming van build, including a mounting shelf for the outdoor AC unit. 🚐🔧

Come with me to a German Shepherd grooming appointment 🐾

This full-service dog grooming session took place in the apartment community’s dedicated dog wash room. This active pup received a double cleansing bath, ear cleaning, and a complete de-shedding treatment for his thick double coat.

After the bath, I used a high-velocity dryer to remove loose undercoat, followed by a detailed brush-out with professional de-shedding tools to release the hair that remained in the coat.

We attempted the nail trim, but decided to skip it today for his comfort and safety. A clean, fresh coat and much less loose undercoat to bring back home! 🐕✨

Today included 2 grooming appointments with 3 Golden Retrievers—two full grooming services and one maintenance trim with a nail trim. Lots of bathing, brushing, de-shedding treatment, coat care, and plenty of loose undercoat removed.

A quick lunch at home, then it was time to clean and disinfect all of my grooming tools with Barbicide before the next workday.

There’s always more behind every groom than people see.

Not enough loose coat to build a second Labrador… but he definitely made a generous donation. 😄
Fresh coat, happy Lab, and a little less fur around the house. ✨
