Meet Meadow! Meadow is a 3-4-year-old domestic short-haired that was surrendered to us. She is incredibly sweet, loves having her ears and neck scratched, and she loves to make biscuits. Cats generally make biscuits as a sign of contentment and happiness. She is on the calmer side, and we believe she would do well in a calmer home where she can receive plenty of love, attention, and plenty of surfaces to continue her biscuit-making hobby. Her adoption fee is $130 which covers updated vaccines, spay, and a microchip.

Meet Koby! Koby is a 1-year-old husky mix that was surrendered to us by his previous owner. He is housebroken and a very fast learner. He likes to stick with the person giving him the most attention. He will require a fenced-in yard as he enjoys running and exploring. His adoption fee is $130, which covers his neuter, microchip, and updated vaccines.

Meet Darby! She is a 1-2-year-old Jack Russell terrier mix. She is very polite and submissive. She is very much a lap dog who would enjoy sitting with you on the porch in the morning and watching TV with you in the afternoon. She walks well on a leash. She doesn't seem to have much interest in cats, and we have not tested her with dogs, so we suggest bringing your own dog for a proper introduction. Her adoption fee is $130 which includes updated vaccines, a microchip, and her spay.

Every day is a new day at MARL and we never know what will be coming through our door. Meet Roger the Rooster. Roger was fine when he was a baby but he found his voice recently and was evicted by the neighborhood association. While hens are allowed, roosters have their own alarm clock that go off at day break and not everyone in the neighborhood appreciated Roger's early wake up call. Not to worry, we have a great farm family that helps us with many of our farm animals and they came and took Roger to his new home. He will have barns for shelter, acres to roam and fences to sit on to prefect his young vocals. He is a handsome boy.

Max, a 3 month old hound mix, was brought in as a stray. No one called or stopped by looking for this cute boy. Max was adopted by Carly Wyatt. He will be home alone only about 4 hours a day. Carly said he will be inside with her all the time and get plenty of walks and playtime. If Carly is out of town, Max will stay with grandma who has 3 dogs of her own and he will love going to grandma's house. Thank you Carly for choosing this sweet pup and thank you for adopting from MARL.

Ginger, a cute little black and white girl, was brought in as a stray. She had no ID or chip and no one called for her. She is about a year old and has the sweetest personality. Ginger was adopted Saturday by Robert Nash and his cute little girl AJ.
She is just the perfect dog for Robert and AJ. Ginger will be home alone only 2 to 3 hours a day. AJ, age 7 is just adorable and she will fall in love with Ginger in no time. We are pretty sure we know where Ginger will be sleeping. They recently lost their cat Archie to serious medical issues. Robert and AJ were ready and needed to hear the sound of four feet running through the house again. Thank you Robert for choosing Ginger and for adopting from MARL.

Carley Thompson and her cute little boy stopped by to visit our kittens. They chose Singer, a cute grey and brown tabby brought to us a stray. We are so glad that Singer has a new home as an inside cat and the bonus is she will have many children to keep her busy. At home are kids 8, 7, 7, 5 (he came with mom) and a 10 month old who is too young to be interested. Also at home is their dog, Ruby, an 8 yr. old spayed Dalmation that is an inside dog. the little one that came with mom to choose a kitten for the family was so gentle with the kitten. Thank you Carley and family for choosing this cute girl and for adopting from MARL.

Our volunteers were at Hollywood Feed Highland Village Saturday with some of our dogs. Girly, a 1 year old c**n hound, was adopted by Kylie Larson. Kylie fell in love with this sweet girl. Girly will be one spoiled pup. She will be an inside dog but has a fenced yard for playtime. Also, Girly will have fun at the dog park with mom. It is in walking distance from her new home and she is going to love meet and greets with other dogs. Kylie comes home for lunch and that will be a big help getting Girly settled and learning her new potty schedule. Thank you so much Kylie for choosing this sweet girl. We bet your cute nephew (pictured) will love helping you with Girly.

It is especially sad to see bonded animals turned in to our shelter. We feel like they have lost their family and their home and we do not want them to lose each other. We try especially hard to place bonded pairs together. Such was the case with Oreo and Qcumber (their names on arrival). Qcumber is more outgoing and Oreo is very dependent on her. They are a very bonded pair. Their previous family brought them in because they were moving. We get a lot of animals brought in when their person moves. Qcumber and Oreo are both girls and only a year old. They were not in the house, they were not spayed and had no current vaccinations. We were determined they would stay together and that they would find a family who would make them a part of their family that included them being inside with that family. Saturday was Qcumber and Oreo's day and we are all so happy beyond words!! One of the questions on adoption application is what would you do with your pet if you have to move. The Rowe family was very firm, if we move everybody moves. That simple. That is family.

Caleb and Emily Rowe saw the girls on our page and they started thinking about them. They already had one large dog at home and were looking for a friend for their beautiful Pyrenees, Shep. They had not thought about two dogs but they saw the girls on our page and the family, including Shep came for a meet and greet. One of our adoption counselors suggested the dogs meet out back by our large dog runs in a fenced area. Everyone got along great!! Oreo, the darker girl is very dependent on her sister. She stayed right by her side as Shep came to introduce himself. All the pups did a little nose to nose and while Oreo was sticking by sis's side, she had no problem with the big guy. And just like that, these girls have the best new family! They will have a fenced back yard but will be inside with family, including Shep and their new little girl who fell in love with this pair as well. Special adoptions like this cause us to have a little happy cry sometimes. It just not get much better than this for these sweet, sweet girls. Thank you so much Rowe family! You sure made the MARL staff very happy and we cannot thank you enough for welcoming Oreo and Qcumber to your family.
