Margaret "Marge`" Blair has been training dogs since 1991. At Twin Cedar K9 we customize your training program to fit you and your dog. We specialize in Therapy dogs, Service dogs, and Search & Rescue. Marge` is a Tester/Observer for Therapy Dogs Incorporated and is a AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Marge` is a member of the Amador County Sheriff's office Search and rescue team and Marge` and her K9 Vito are on ISRCH (Independent Search & Rescue Canine Handlers)

Twin Cedar K9 would like to introduce our newest Second Chance dog, Doogie Bowser. Doogie hails from the Calaveras County animals services. He is approximately 20 months old and looks to be a mix between German Shepherd and Husky. He's a very sweet, loving dog who is very willing to learn. He should be available for adoption in approximately 1 to 2 months, once he knows all of his basic obedience and manners. Howdy folks, my name is Wild Bill Hickock, but my friends just call me Billy. I came into the Twin Cedar K9 Second Chance program from the great people at the Calaveras County animal shelter. I am about 8½ months, old and per my DNA results, I am pretty much a mutt. My results are posted below. Auntie Margé says my intelligence and willingness to learn comes from the German Shepherd and my laid-back personality come from the little bit of Mastiff. I am neutered, current on all my vaccines, and am on heartworm prevention. I know most of my basic obedience on lead, and I play well with other dogs too!. I am not sure how I would be with small furry animals like cats.

Twin Cedar K9 Second Chance program would like to introduce Mr. Zeek. Zeek came to us from the great folks at the Calaveras Animal Services. Zeek is 4 1/2 year old German Shepherd or possibly a Shepherd mix. He has a sad story. His owner passed away and there were no other family members to keep him.

Zeek is a very kind soul! He is good with all the dogs he has met here at Twin Cedar K9. Big or small he gets along with them all! He is a mellow fellow who enjoys hanging out with his people. Zeek knows all of his basic on lead obedience. He is neutered, current on all core vaccines and on heartworm prevention. We are pretty sure Zeek is house broken. Twin Cedar K9 Second Chance dog Heidi is looking for her forever home. She hails from the Calaveras County animal shelter. Heidi is approximately 1 year old, spayed, current on all vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. Heidi has been introduced to her basic obedience and manners. She gets along with other dogs, both males and females. She was tested with Macho our ranch kitty and Heidi just showed curiosity and maybe a little fear. Heidi was good in the house on leash. Hallelujah! After 170 days at Twin Cedar K9, Dooley is finally off to his forever home! He has been adopted by very dear friends of mine. Lorin & Michelle adopted one of my Second Chance dogs, Koda in 2010. In 2012, they adopted Niki from one of my German Shepherd litters. Koda passed away a few years ago and Niki has been their only dog. We were not too sure if Niki would like another dog to join her pack, but she seemed quite happy to meet Mr. Mellow, Dooley. I am just so happy for Dooley! He has hit the jackpot! He has become a well loved boy by all my clients and he will be missed.

Twin Cedar K9 Second Chance program would like to introduce "Heidi". Margé picked Heidi from the Calaveras County animal shelter a little over a week ago. Heidi is approximately 8 months old and appears to be a purebred German Shepherd. She is not available for adoption yet, but once she has mastered all of her basic obedience and manners she will be looking for her forever home. So far, what we have learned from Heidi is, she is very smart and willing, and she gets along great with all the dogs and people she has met. Heidi has not been tested with cats yet. I had a great and successful lesson with new clients in Ione this afternoon. Steve and Janet had been having a lot of problems with their beautiful Lab, Beau. Beau was a very wild and unruly boy when I arrived, barking and jumping on the back sliding glass door. Steve was not able to get Beau to stop this very bad behavior. Within a few minutes of training, Beau learned that sittining politely would get him into the house!

Janet has not been able to take Besu for any walks due to his pulling to hard on his leash wich was quite dangerous for Janet. By the end our lesson, Janet was able to take Beau on a walk through their neighborhood! I am looking forward to our next lesson at Twin Cedar Ranch.
