Dear Wags 2 Wishes Family,
This is not a letter we ever imagined writing, especially after more than 10 years in the place we have proudly called home. But with transparency and trust in our community, we want to share an important update.
Due to unexpected circumstances beyond our control, we are no longer able to remain at our current location. We have been given notice that we must be fully moved out by the end of February. This news came suddenly, and while it has been overwhelming, one thing has never wavered: our commitment to the animals who depend on us.
Wags 2 Wishes is not closing.
Our rescue animals still need us. The dogs still need a safe place to land, to heal, and to find their forever families. That means we urgently need to secure a new building that can support our mission and allow us to continue — and even grow — the work we do every single day.
We do have a realtor actively assisting us in our search. However, if you are a property or building owner (or know someone who is) with a space that may be suitable for a rescue facility, we ask you to please reach out to us directly. Sometimes the right doors open through community connections.
In the coming weeks, we will also need our village in very tangible ways:
• Volunteers to help with tear-down of our current center
• Packing, sorting, and organizing supplies
• Assistance with building out and preparing our new location
We are also in need of sturdy plastic bins for packing — bins with lids, no cracks, and able to withstand a move.
Additionally, this transition comes with significant financial needs. We are preparing for extensive fundraising to help cover:
• Securing and renting a new building
• Materials for new dog runs, kennels, and fencing
• Facility build-out and essential operational needs
This is a lot — and we won’t pretend otherwise. But if our journey has taught us anything, it’s that Wags 2 Wishes has never stood alone. We have pushed through hardship before. We have overcome challenges that once felt impossible.
And we know, with every fiber of our being, that this moment is not the end — it’s a turning point.
This move gives us the opportunity to save more dogs, enhance our facilities, and reach limits we couldn’t before. We have a village that has stood beside us through it all, and there are truly no words that fully express how grateful we are for each of you.
Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for standing with us. And thank you for helping us write the next chapter of Wags 2 Wishes — together.
With endless gratitude,The Wags 2 Wishes Team
