🛑⚠️❌⚠️🛑❌ Scam Alert 🛑⚠️❌⚠️🛑❌
Unfortunately, it was brought to my attention this morning that a scammer is using my name and location to collect deposits for puppies they do not have.
At this time, we do not have any available
🐶🐾’s, and our next planned group will be late spring.
Please note that Pawmetto Hounds has a three-step approval process, and families must be fully approved before being considered for a puppy. I never request deposits from individuals who have not gone through this process.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me directly through my official Pawmetto Hounds page or website to verify information.
Thank you for helping spread awareness and protect families from scams. 🐾

How to Avoid Puppy Scams
For families searching for a puppy and hoping to avoid falling victim to a scam, the tips below can help guide you through the process with confidence. ♥
If it looks too good to be true — it usually is.
A reputable breeder will care deeply about where their puppies are going. They will ask you questions about your lifestyle, experience, and the forever home you’re providing—not just focus on collecting a payment.
Puppy photos matter.
Legitimate breeders will have consistent photos of the puppies and often pictures of the entire litter together. Puppies should look similar in size and age. Be cautious of listings with many different puppies photographed in different locations. Breeders don’t take puppies to random places to photograph them individually. Always ask for a litter photo.
Check personal social media profiles.
Look at when the person’s page was created. Are there frequent spelling or language inconsistencies? Do they have genuine friends, tagged photos, and a history of posts? Many scammers have likes and followers from multiple countries and very little personal content.
Review business pages carefully.
When was the page created? Has the name been changed? Read reviews and study the photos closely. A legitimate breeder’s page will show consistency over time.
Visit their website if they have one.
Was it recently created? Are there obvious spelling or grammar errors? Poor language and vague information are often red flags that can help distinguish a scammer from a reputable breeder.
Be cautious with money requests.
Scammers often push for payment immediately—sometimes within the first few messages. Most reputable breeders have waiting lists unless puppies were just born and the litter was larger than expected.
FaceTime and phone calls are important.
There is no reason a legitimate breeder wouldn’t be willing to FaceTime or speak on the phone. Scammers commonly claim phone issues, bad signals, or avoid live communication altogether.
Don’t let emotions rush your decision.
Bringing home a puppy is exciting, and it’s easy to fall in love quickly. Take your time, do your research, and trust your instincts.
Ask lots of questions.
Get to know the breeder, their program, and how their puppies are raised before making any commitments.
