Message from Owner: FRECKLEFACE ON THE LOOSE
): Large brown-and-tan speckled dog (rescued Catahoula Leopard breed). Escaped between midnight and 5AM. Collar came off so no active tracker or reflective band. Runs like the wind--on hikes, tracker has clocked him at 26mph. One year and three months to the day. Marbled eyes (blue/brown right eye; brown left eye). Gets two long hikes a day and only once or twice had escaped (and then, for only a few seconds) in the nearly 8 months he's been part of the family since we adopted him--but just this week (full moon?), he's escaped 11 times, during which we've been actively pursuing new fencing options and even coyote rollers (look it up) and have kept the pet door locked. This breed is part hound so when running resembles a greyhound and though rare, also bellows like a hound (otherwise quiet). Have called JECC dispatch in case anyone calls in after shelter hours and also left a message at the shelter. Have posted to Facebook Lost-and-Found and Nextdoor. Absolutely sick; please spread the word, keep a lookout for him, and be extra vigilant when driving for everyone's sake! He does get easily tuckered out after runs so could also just be trotting/out for the count. Thank you for your time and compassion.
