28 April, 2025 Dun blanket Araloosa c**t: Hey Hollywood (ApHC) x Spirit of Lily DCR (AHA)

*Should mature 15.1+hh

His mom and pop are around 15.1hh but this mare has produced 2 15.3 to 16+hh Araloosa c**ts so far. Her only purebred filly is about her size though. So I do not expect him to be less than 15.1hh.

*AHA and ApHC … Pending. I haven’t dun it yet because i can’t decide on a name. ☹️

*Panel tested… Pending, but should be negative for everything.

*LP, E?, A?, Dd … Pending. probably homozygous for black. Agouti could be heterozygous as there are several black horses in the pedigree. 1 Lp and 1 dun gene. Probably carries 1 Splash gene and 1 W20 gene.

* 4 months (as of Aug 31) and ready to wean. He is also currently unhandled because I just don’t have time.
*I have a plan to send him to someone for October (that’s the earliest they can get him in) to get all the basics.

He is everything I’ve ever wanted but the reality is I work over 60 hrs a week and 2.5 hrs from home so there is no way I can manage a stallion at this point in my life.

Dam: DREA Sugareagl Sundy (foundation Appy), buckskin leopard, registered ApHC, 14.2hh

Sire is homozygous Endurance Type (MSTN1 T/T) - (MSTN2 n/n) so the filly has at least one.
Filly is tested EE Aa Cr/Cr nd1/nd2 Lp/lp PATN1/n
She is also tested neg for all stock horse and Arabian genetic diseases.
So she will produce Smokey black and Buckskin but never palomino.

ApHC registration papers have been submitted for Fire Storm DCR, 2023 Perlino Appaloosa (37.5% Arab) Filly (yeah I know, it’s late) and I’ve also submitted color and disease DNA for her as well. I’m also having her tested for DMRT3 (no I don’t think she’ll be positive for this but you never know - sire tested negative) and endurance type (sire tested homozygous for endurance type). I’m pretty sure she will test positive for 1 copy of PATN1. Check out her newborn pics to see her pattern. I do plan to use her for breeding buckskin Araloosas. She will only be eligible for ApHC registration because her dam is ApHC and her sire was AHA and ApHC. Her Arabian offspring can be double registered. Cross my fingers she keeps all that beautiful hair.

UPDATE: 24 June’24, ultrasound confirmed Sundy is NOT pregnant… she got sick with a respiratory infection right after she got bred and took about 3 weeks to recover so this news is not a surprise. I’ve decided not to try and rebreed her this year so there will not be a 2025 foal from this cross. I’m gonna try again next year with this cross.

Buckskin Leopard Foundation Appaloosa mare, DREA Sugareagl Sundy, is being bred to Dun Snowcap Appaloosa stallion, Hey Hollywood for a 2025 Appaloosa foal. Also pictured is her perlino blanketed part-Arab filly.

UPDATE: 24 June’24, Lily IS confirmed pregnant via ultrasound!! Yay I’m so excited to see this foal next year!!

Purebred Arabian mare, Spirit of Lily DCR is being bred to Appaloosa stallion, Hey Hollywood for a possible dun blanketed Araloosa in 2025 😁.
Pictures included are the mare, the stallion, and the mare’s 3 foals she’s had so far. She’s had 2 Araloosa foals and 1 Arabian foal so far. All have been spectacular!!!!
