Buong Mesa. August 16th was a really special night for Masagana Farm and I cannot thank the community who helped put it together enough for their dedication, hard work, altruism and belief in local food! None of this could have been done without each and every person volunteering to make the event a success.
Sarah created the most thoughtful and delicious menu for our donors with the help of Caleb. They made sure to highlight the farms produce and elevate its flavors with their expertise! Sarah also realllllly helped me to push the vision for Buong Mesa and also provided me with a lot of guidance on how an event like this should run! Props to her focused and calm work ethic, I was able to keep my sanity the whole way through!
Korie volunteered to generously provide Buong Mesa with customized spoon jewelry to our guests. She made a beautiful “Masagana Farm” copper band for me. 😭🥹
I gave Rosie a challenge with different Filipino flavors and she absolutely blew everyone away!!
All the guests thought they were full after 5 courses, but after Rosie delivered her 2 stunning desserts, those were all gone as well!
James volunteered his musical talent and played the keys for us all night long, which I sadly did not get a video of.
Thank you to Johnny for volunteering to screen print tote bag in exchange for produce! They got a big reaction when I brought them out!!
Thank you to all the donors who came out and brought great energy, conversation and their appetite! We all made some new friends for life :’)
Masagana Farm’s first season has been such a success with over 1,300 pounds of food harvested (and still counting), over 20 volunteers/farm visits, 2 farmers markets a week, over 50 preorders fulfilled and over 20 produce deliveries made, hundreds of pounds of produce donated and many many many new connections and friends made.
I’m so grateful for the Indianapolis community and my gift for farming!!
Hopefully chickens coming next year heheheh
