URGENT NEED IN INDIANAPOLIS

**Editing with updated information: Ricky is 15 years old, no medical concerns other than that eye. Thanks for considering him, and please let me know if you or someone you know will be interested in helping this sweet boy.**
This will be a long post, so please bear with me. We have an impending situation that's urgent for a very long term, elderly client.
He currently lives in an apartment in Hoosier Village, but had to go into rehab a couple of months ago after a fall.
I got a text from his stepdaughter today that he would not be able to return to his home and will no longer be able to keep his beloved cat, Ricky.
I'm assuming that once the transfer to long term nursing care is processed, Hoosier Village will want to vacate his current apartment for a new resident, so time really is of the essence.
I've cared for Ricky for at least 10 years, though I don't know his exact age. (Stepdaughter will be getting all of that info from the owner. I started with this client with two other cats who have since passed, and when he adopted Ricky, he didn't give me much information.)
Ricky isn't on any medication and eats a normal diet, kibble and wet food daily. He does have an issue with his left eye, but he doesn't have any pain or discomfort from it, though that may be something that would need addressed.
He's a gentle boy who can be a little timid with strangers, but once he's comfortable with someone, he's a very loving boy.
He's never lived with dogs and has been an only pet for all the time I've known him. I don't know how he would do going into a home with other pets, but the situation is such that it might be worth the effort to see if it would work. He's a strictly indoor cat.
The stepdaughter is looking for no-kill shelters, which breaks my heart. I can't fathom this sweet cat losing his dad, his home, and sitting in a shelter. I told her I'd put the word out to see if we might be able to find a home for him where he could go directly there, instead of ending up in a shelter as a senior cat.
PLEASE, please, if anyone would be interested in giving this gentle fellow a soft spot to land for his remaining years, or can pass the word along to others who might consider him, please let me know. Or, worse comes to worst, if you know of any shelters or rescues who could give this boy a good shot at a home, I'd appreciate that information, too. I do know that shelters and rescues are already bursting at the seams, so direct to a home would be ideal.
And if you or someone you know would be able to take him and you live in an area I cover, I'd be happy to offer free pet sitting services for a period of time if it will incentivize someone to open their home to him.
