🦷🐾 February is Pet Dental Health Month! 🐾🦷

Just like us, our furry friends need regular dental care to stay healthy and pain-free.

✨ Why pet dental care matters:
✔️ Helps to prevent bad breath
✔️ Reduces plaque & tartar buildup
✔️ Helps avoid gum disease
✔️ Protects heart, liver & kidney health

📅 This February, schedule a dental check-up and give your pet something to smile about.

Paw Haven Animal Hospital is beyond proud to officially sponsor the veterinary care for the Hutto Police Department’s newest member, Chase, the Crisis K9 puppy!

Chase has an important future ahead supporting our community, and we are honored to play a small part in helping him stay happy, healthy, and ready for the incredible work he will do.

Thank you to the Hutto Police Department for trusting us with Chase’s care and for everything you do to keep our community safe. We cannot wait to watch this special pup grow into his role. 💙🐾

Holiday Hazards Every Pet Parent Should Watch Out For

The holidays bring joy, decorations, and extra time with the pets we love, but they are also one of the busiest seasons for veterinary visits.

Dr. Julia Dickerson would like to share some holiday hazards to be aware of.

Table Scraps-
Foods seasoned with garlic or onion can damage red blood cells and lead to serious illness. Fatty foods may cause vomiting, diarrhea, or pancreatitis that could require hospitalization. Discarded bones can also cause dangerous intestinal blockages if pets get into the trash.

Plants-
Seasonal plants are another concern. Poinsettias, mistletoe, and holly can all cause gastrointestinal upset. Mistletoe in larger amounts may lead to more severe symptoms such as collapse or seizures.

Decorations-
Holiday decorations also pose risks. Pets may chew on light cords and suffer electrical burns, unsecured trees can tip and cause injuries, and tinsel is especially tempting for our furry friends to swallow. When ingested, tinsel can create a linear foreign body that often requires surgery.

If you have questions or notice anything unusual with your pet this holiday season, don’t wait, call Paw Haven Animal Hospital today.

Our team at Paw Haven Animal Hospital came together this week to sponsor an Angel Tree child, and it was a meaningful reminder of why we love serving the Hutto community. Gathering gifts and helping brighten a child’s holiday reflects the same compassion and teamwork we bring to the families who trust us with their pets.

Every day, we work to provide care that is thoughtful, skilled, and centered on making families feel supported. Whether it is a new pet’s first checkup or guidance through a more complex health concern, clients can count on their Hutto veterinarian for both experience and genuine care. Being part of this community means showing up in ways that go beyond the exam room, and we are grateful for the opportunity to care for both pets and people during the holiday season.

If you want a veterinary team that brings professionalism, compassion, and a true sense of community to the care of your pet, we would be honored to help.

Call Paw Haven Animal Hospital to learn more about the team and our services.
