Maverick… This handsome energetic boy is single and ready mingle😍. He a 1-2 yr old Chocolate Lab, weighing about 70lbs. He loves the outdoors🏞️, long walks🦮 and has a big soft spot for squishies🐥. Have you ever heard the saying…”Don’t put the cart before the horse”? Well, we did just that!!🤦🏻‍♀️

On New Year’s Eve we got notification about three dogs that were on the euthanasia block!! The first one is a beautiful, semi senior German Shepherd at the Wichita Animal Shelter. She had been tagged for another Rescue but that tag fell through, which immediately sent her to the front of the line. There’s something about her eyes that even with no foster lined up or place for her to go, we had to save her. She was listed behavioral, which we still haven’t been able to figure out why… She’s been nothing but sweet the last couple of days. She is dog friendly, kid friendly, and doesn’t seem to mind cats. She’s a little on the thin side and will need some basic vetting and be spayed. We have decided to call her Sasha. She is currently looking for a foster and in the next couple of weeks she will be available for adoption.

The next two came from the Loves gas station out on 96 in South Hutch, they were picked up as strays and spent a full two weeks at Prairie Vista waiting for their owner to reclaim them which never happened. Neither South Hutch PD or Prairie Vista wanted to euthanize because they are super friendly, know basic commands and were already fixed so they called us and of course we swooped them up. Chopper(male) the black and white one is believed to be a cattle dog pittie mix. And Sina(female) is a brindle pittie. They seem to be a bonded pair. We have got all their vaccinations updated so they are basically ready for a Foster or Adopter.

If you are interested in fostering and or adopting any of these fur babies, please contact us through our website ww.redemptionanimalrescueks.com.

Also big things goes out to Elizabeth Shepard for coming in clutch and helping us get a couple of retriever pens to temporarily how these babies❤️. Liz, you literally saved all three of these dogs lives. 😘

Pupdate on Peso & Stanley

Peso is doing great with his recovery!! We have been running follow-up cbc"s every week and his numbers are continuing to increase. He is now down to taking two meds💊 a day. In about two weeks we will run new blood work and if everything looks good we will start tapering him off the remaining meds. His appetite is normal again and he definitely has his spicy back😈😝. Also, we are happy to report that he is no longer the color of a banana🍌.

Stanley got to see Dr Rock at VCA this past Saturday for a liver sonogram🩻. Thankfully doc did not find anything abnormal but she added an additional med to see if we can bring those liver numbers down. He will also continue the meds to clear up the ear infection & UTI and then we will run new bloodwork🩸in a couple of weeks. With some good groceries, meds and lots of TLC we are all optimistic that this old guy will pull through. What he lacks in weight and physical condition he makes up for with sweetness!❣️

🫶A huge THANK YOU to everyone that prayed and donated to these two. We could not do what we do without the love and support from our community.
Peso and Stanley appreciate it too!!🐶❤️🐶

We are in need of a couple of these type pens. We would love to buy a couple while they are on sale but they are lower on the priority scale until we know for sure what vet costs we are looking at for several of our dogs. If anyone has any of the panels or other type pens and you would be open to donating, please message us. If you want to donate monetarily, I’ll include Venmo & PayPal links. As always, thank you so much for your support!

This past Sunday a post was made about a sick and wounded dog out at the trailer park on Hwy 50. We reached out to the posting party and offered some food and assistance. When we arrived, we were absolutely shocked to see the condition that this poor pup was in and could not leave it behind.

We are calling this sweet old guy, Stanley!!! 🥰 We got him settled Sunday night and first thing Monday he was off to the vet. He is extremely emaciated, covered in fleas, riddled with hookworms, raging ear infection to the point that pus and dried blood was caked in one canal, horrible teeth, blind in one eye and possibly going deaf, oh and a UTI. We ran blood work and it showed that his liver count is through the roof. At first glance, we thought he may have recently been hit by a car because he cannot hold his head straight and he walks very wobbly, but after examination, they do believe that he has suffered some kind of trauma, but that it was quite a while ago. One good thing that we did find out was that he was heartworm negative and because he is probably one of the sweetest old guys we’ve had come into Rescue we have decided to give this guy the best care for whatever time he has left.

As of now he’s been receiving lots of much-needed groceries, treated for fleas, treated for hookworms and is on some antibiotics to treat the UTI and ear infection. We also have started a few supplements to help aid him getting healthier. He will also be having a liver sonogram on Saturday. With all of this amazing care and treatment the bills of course are adding up so if anyone was looking for an update on this sweet guy or wanted to or is willing to donate towards his care it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Links are listed below to donate!!! Stanley deserves to know what love and proper care feels like.💔🐶🏥

Help desperately needed…🙏

November 25th we took in the sweet little guy. His name is Peso and he’s only about three years old. A very nice family took him in a while back from a bad situation but unfortunately, he just did not connect with the husband and was becoming very territorial over the wife. To keep everyone in the house safe, they made the hard decision to surrender him to us. The first four or five days with us everything was going fantastic and then tragedy struck. Last Friday evening he refused to eat dinner, Saturday he was still refusing to eat and was acting lethargic. By Sunday he was throwing up, having a little bit of diarrhea as well as some discharge when he went potty and was beginning to look jaundice. First thing Monday morning we took him into the vet thinking that he might have just eaten something that didn’t sit right with his tummy, we would get an anabiotic and go right back home. Unfortunately, that did not happen. We were absolutely shocked at how quickly this little guy started turning yellow from the inside out. We ran blood work, did sonograms and found out that he was very, very sick and that his liver was failing. At first, the veterinarians were thinking that he might have lepto virus and we are still waiting on those results. He has been hospitalized since Monday and yesterday was transferred to VCA in South Hutchinson for some more advanced testing. Dr. Rock at VCA now believes that he might have an autoimmune disease called IMAH. He will remain hospitalized and is now receiving a new anabiotic, anti-nausea meds, steroids, and fluids. He also may need a blood transfusion, but we don’t know that for sure just yet. With all of this going on he is still fighting and we want to do everything we can to make sure that he can continue to fight. He is receiving and derserves the best care, but the bills are definitely adding up. If you are able to help donate, it would be so greatly appreciated.

Below are some links where donations can be made or you can make donations directly to VCA.

Last chance plea🙏… Mr. Rocky only has about 24 hours to find a Foster or potential Adopter before he has to be transferred back to the Salina Animal Shelter. We would love to not have to do that.

Rocky is the sweetest boy with the best personality . If you’re interested in fostering or possibly adopting, please let us know ASAP.
