I had a dream last night that my 5-yr-old was diagnosed with cancer and had 10 days to live.
If anyone reading this has had to endure the loss of a child, words can not express how my heart aches for you. No parent should have to go through that. I woke up crying and determined to get my tasks done early this morning, so that I could have some undistracted quality time with her today.

I feel that dreams like the one I had last night are such a gift--a reminder that life is temporary and precious.

And the little things? They aren’t so little. Our lives and our relationships are all made out of little moments-- and that's what we miss most when they are gone.

Lindy’s scrunched up nose and cute little teeth when she smiles.

Maddox laughing and lovingly teasing his sisters.

Those aren’t little things. They are everything.

Brené Brown anyone? She knows how to cut right to the heart of things, doesn't she. Mindfulness to me is embracing that authentic part of ourselves. Learning to love without judgement and recognize that we aren't our thoughts--we are something bigger, and we are worthy of self-love.
