Today is National Mutt Day, one of our favorite days to celebrate all the wonderfully unique mixed breed dogs who have come through Huntsville Animal Services. Mutts bring something special to the table, whether it is their unpredictable quirks, the mashup of traits you never see coming, or simply the way they love their people with everything they have.

If you adopted a mutt from us, we would love for you to share a photo and tell us their story, at least as much of it as you know. Whether you have a dog who arrived as a stray with no background at all or one whose past was heartbreakingly clear, your story helps show how resilient, joyful and unforgettable mutts truly are.
Mutts are often the dogs who surprise us the most. They become adventure buddies, couch potatoes, chaotic comedians, quiet companions or something in between. They come in every shape and size, every color, and every personality type. They fill our hallways, they make us laugh, and sometimes they even make us cry.
