I apologize that I never updated last week, but neither Flare nor Siri ended up being pregnant. I wasn’t surprised about Siri really, but I was quite surprised that Flare didn’t work out. Flare just had her first litter a few months ago - a large litter of 12, and the stud we used was the same one that just produced a litter with Nova in recent months. So, now we wait. I don’t expect Siri or Flare back in heat until late November or December, but any of the others could go into heat at any time. It’s also almost time to finish up health clearances for Maverick and Maple as they turn 2 years old in a week. I will, of course, post again when I have news. I think if we have any breedings in the next month or so, we’d be looking at birth around late October/early November and that might just result in pups ready to go home near Christmastime.

Cleaned Siri up because she got all the sticky debris from the hay field, and, frankly, just needed a bath. Had an xray done and she isn’t pregnant, but we also didn’t end up with pyometra again so that’s at least good news!

Once again, I apologize that I haven’t been doing well with responding to messages and emails. I recently got a new phone and admittedly haven’t even got all my emails and stuff set back up yet. We’re also just staying busy this summer and I tend to do better at keeping up with all of my communications closer to puppy time.

I have not confirmed pregnancy on our attempted litters due at the end of the month. Siri doesn’t appear to be pregnant but she’s a bit hefty so she could be fooling me. Flare also doesn’t look pregnant yet and is very lean, but she should start to really grow if she is. I have had a couple of vet appointments recently that ended up having conflicts but hopefully I will be able to confirm something soon.

Siri girl is hanging out with me today! She always gives me the squinty eyes when I'm talking to her.

I attempted a relaxin pregnancy test on her, but unfortunately it looks negative. I wasn't really expecting it to work out this time, but was hopeful. However, it is still early, so we'll keep an eye on her. If she were to be pregnant, I'd expect pups around July 22nd. If not, we're just watching to make sure we don't end up with pyometra🤞

Flare should also be pregnant with Blue babies, due the last week of July. Blue is the same dog that sired Nova's recent litter.
