In this hands-on educational session, Fran will teach you the basics of assessing saddle fit, both English & Western saddles. You will learn what to look for and why it is critical in maintaining the health, soundness & performance of your horse. Amanda Pitsch will also briefly discuss bridle fit considerations.

After a brief presentation, you will have the opportunity to assess static saddle fit on a variety of horse types using several different saddles (provided by the host facility). You will also learn what to look for when purchasing a used saddle and how to assess fit to ensure a saddle fits you well & why that is as important as the saddle fitting your horse well.

In July 2024 I had the opportunity to join Wahr Performance Horses at the Holland Western Horse Park for one of the shows in the HWHP Ranch Horse Schooling Series. Owner Kim Raddatz and Trainer Jennifer Wahr generously allowed me to ride Roosters Spartan, aka Gobi. Gobi put his best hoof forward and brought home Reserve Champion High Point for the show, earning custom coasters and many ribbons. Classes we participated in included; Ranch Conformation, Ranch Showmanship, Ranch Trail, Ranch Pleasure, Ranchmanship, and Ranch Riding. Despite never being to Holland Western Horse Park before and this being my first ride on Gobi, he put forth great effort and performed well beyond expectations. Thank you to .raddatz.9 and Wahr Performance Horses!

The 2024 GLASS-ED banquet hosted on November 10, 2024, was a great opportunity to celebrate all the hard work of its members. Previously, I had shown a Willow Ridge - Sport & Performance Horses school horse, Bravo Zulu, for his dressage debut in 2022 and client horse HF Starbuck to solidify positive experiences in 2023. 2024 was the first time I had set performance goals in the dressage ring.

I was fortunate to have two show partners this season. Electric Cuervo and Chic in Tinseltown; two little red mares with big hearts.

Electric Cuervo, lovingly called Midge in the barn, earned the following awards. High Point Open Champion Introductory Level, both live and virtual, in Western Dressage. High Percentage Open Champion Introductory Level, both live and virtual, in Western Dressage. Silver Certificate of Achievement at Virtual Western Introductory Level. Silver Certificate of Achievement at (live) Western Introductory Level.

Chic in Tinseltown, aka Edie, earned the following awards. High Point Open Champion Training Level for live shows in Dressage. High Percentage Open Champion Training Level for live shows in Dressage.

2024 was a whirlwind of a year, thinking back I wonder where all the time went?! After reviewing photos and hours of videos from training sessions, lessons, clinics, shows, and plain everyday life I found so many little wins to celebrate that I could not possibly cover it all in one post. I've listed a few highlights that I'm most proud of. While many of these little wins are not tangible, they have a great impact on the trainer, coach, and person that I am. Here's to a great 2025!

I gained many great friends and clients.

I've worked with many horses that challenged my skills.

I'm half way through a certification for equine kinesiology taping.

I had professional portraits taken for the first time, ever! Thank you, Even So Photo!

I had a few catch rides aboard horses trained by Wahr Performance Horses and had such a blast doing so.

I worked hard to earn points in the GLASS-ED organization in both Dressage and Western Dressage. Navigating Chic in Tinseltown and Electric Cuervo to several High Point and High Percentage wins, both in-person and virtual.

I also worked hard to earn points in the Western Dressage Association of Michigan organization, results forthcoming.

I rode in two USDF "L" program sessions at Willow Ridge - Sport & Performance Horses.

I improved my understanding of horse and rider biomechanics with the guidance and knowledge of Kimberly Dunlap at Willow Ridge - Sport & Performance Horses and Suzanne Galdun, Positively Dressage.

Team Willow Ridge - Sport & Performance Horses had a successful weekend as two teammates went down centerline with their partners for the first time.

Brittany Hunter and HF Aurora had two great tests on Saturday. They made a great first impression as a team and are looking forward to next season!

Emily Kennedy and Lucky Romeo had two great tests on Sunday. They’re both new to dressage and displayed great effort in their first trip down centerline, ever!
