Sebastian is here to show you that what you read online about your breed isn’t always what you get. When I first got this dog I was in over my head, I truly believed that I had gotten a lazy, stubborn, and overall difficult dog. While he hasn’t been as easy to train as a Labrador or Golden Retriever may have been, he’s made me work for every single success.

The truth is that you get what you put into your dog. If I had kept on believing that my basset hound was like every description I’d read online then we definitely wouldn’t be doing agility. However, by modifying my training and learning to work with Sebastian, I’ve not only created a relatively well trained little dude but I’ve also been able to foster a true connection to him that I never knew was possible. All in all stop believing what everyone else says about your dog and just go out and train. Do stupid things with them that you find fun, build that bond, and create a well rounded dog of your own.
