Hey all!
We’re halfway through the week, and one day closer til Friday!
I’d like to take a minute to introduce myself. For those of you who may not know me, my name is Drake Johnson. I’m 24 years old and Nebraska born and raised, GBR! Anyone who knows me can attest that horses have been my passion ever since I could walk and talk! I grew up showing locally and discovered my passion for the reined cow horse and versatility events when I began competing on the ranch horse team at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. During my time at NCTA, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunities to ride with top trainers in the reining and cow horse business. I used every chance to soak up as much knowledge as possible, and to this day continue to learn and add to my training “tool box.” I’m a firm believer in the fact that you’re never done learning! During the summers between school years, I interned and rode under numerous trainers in all aspects of the reined cow horse, from cutting, reining, and cow horse programs.
As I shared in my first introductory post, 2019 has been the year I’ve decided to branch out on my own. I know I’m not done learning and plan to continue to grow as a trainer and horseman and will take every learning opportunity I can get! I’m excited for this big step in my career and can’t wait to share the experience with you all! I’d also love to hear from you! If there’s anything else you’d like to know about me, my program, or any of the horses, drop a comment, send me a pm, or call/text!
Stay tuned over the next few days for posts introducing the horses that are starting off the prospect program!
*SIDE NOTE*
I’ve been told that some people have had to go re-like the page, so head on over to the page and make sure you didn’t get booted off! 👍🏽
Enjoy the rest of the week!
