4 Weeks | Tuesdays | Brilliant Borderhauss Dog Training

Does your dog pull on leash, ignore you when it counts, jump on guests, or just seem like they missed the memo on how to live politely in a human world? This class is for you.

Life Skills Foundation is a 4-week group class designed for dogs of any age, any breed, and any starting point. Whether you just brought home a puppy or you've been living with a "work in progress" for years, this class builds the real-world foundation your dog needs to be a confident, connected, welcome-everywhere companion.

Using 100% positive reinforcement methods, we focus on the skills that actually matter in daily life — not just sit-stay-down in a perfect environment, but real behaviors that hold up at the front door, on the trail, and at the vet.

What we cover:

Loose leash walking
Sit, down, and stay with real-world distractions
Come when called (even when something better is happening)
Polite greetings with people and dogs
Settle and impulse control
Focus and connection with you as the handler
This class also serves as a pathway toward the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification — a nationally recognized title that proves your dog has the manners to be welcome anywhere. CGC testing is offered separately upon completion.

Class size is limited to 6 dogs to ensure every team gets individualized attention in a small, supportive group setting.

Tuition: $149 | Tuesdays, June 30 – July 28 (skip July 14)

Intro to Agility – A low-pressure, safe introduction to all agility obstacles. For dog/handlers new to agility.

Reliable Recall – Build a recall that works when it actually matters for all age dogs!

Agility Handling – Foundations for turns, crosses, and clear communication on course. For those with a little previous experience.

Drop-In Adventure Class – Real-life skills, novel challenges, and confidence building in a fun, flexible format. For any dog looking for an hour of enrichment and fun!

Adventure Class is coming up, and this one is all about doing rather than drilling.

If your dog enjoys movement, problem-solving, novelty, and learning how to stay regulated around other dogs, this class is for you. We’ll rotate through multiple stations focused on body awareness, confidence, fitness, targeting, relaxation, and real-life skills—all on leash, at your dog’s pace.

This is a great option for dogs who love to think, dogs who need help staying under threshold, and handlers who want practical skills that transfer to real life. Limited spots available so each team gets support and space. Reach out if you want in or have questions about fit.
