My name is Starbuck and I am a corgi. I have short legs. I have big ears. And I do not have a tail. Lady Human and Mister Human drove for over 18 hours in snow and ice to bring me home. They give me treats, and play games with me, and teach me new things. Though... Sometimes they give me a bath. I do not like taking a bath. That was until they got a spray nozzle! I get to bark and bite at the wate
r! I love rolling around on the towel after too! I love Lady and Mister very much. In my house there is also Cat1 and Cat2. Cat1 likes me. We play. She even forgave me when I peed on her when I was little. Cat2 does not like me. I try to tell her I love her all the time by sniffing her rear and bringing her toys. But she does not care. That is okay though, I will keep trying. I love Cat1 and Cat2. I love to have fun and play with other dogs. I love to swim. I love to cuddle. And I love meeting new people and making new friends. I hope we can be friends! Please! Oh... I see a new toy. I must go investigate and make sure it is safe. Okay, bye! (Lady Human here. Starbuck was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus at around 4 weeks old when it became apparent that she was not growing like the other puppies. The vets did everything they could but we were told she would most likely not live very long. We didn't care, my husband and I. I was in love with this fluffball and I wanted to give her the best life possible, whether it be 6 months or 16 years. She has surpassed the time allotted for her and is still doing well. She has difficulty with learning and retention, difficulty with continence, difficulty seeing well, and is scared of some of the weirdest things. But! She is the happiest, sweetest corgi you will ever meet! She is the light of my life and I feel blessed every day that we share together. Our goal for her is to some day become a therapy dog and travel to veteran hospitals and cancer treatment centers to share her story. Being sick doesn't mean you cant have TONS of fun, and certainly doesn't mean you cant be happy. Starbuck proves that every day! Her training will take extra time and hard work. So in the meantime, we have started this page (and she has a blog in the works!) to spread the message that just because you're sick, that doesn't mean you have to act like it. And just because you are different, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you! This page is to share the life of Starbuck The HydroPup.)
