This **Saturday, January 17th from 9:00–11:30 AM**, **Texas Homeward Bound Animal Rescue** will be joining **Little Explorers Academy** for their **Amazing Animals Event** — a fun, STEAM-inspired morning for kids and families!

During the event, we’ll be talking with kids about:
🐕 What it means to be a **responsible pet owner**
❤️ Why pets need love, time, and commitment
🩺 The importance of vet care
🔬 **Microchipping** — how this tiny piece of technology helps lost pets find their way home

📘 We’ll also have our children’s book,
***The Great Texas Homeward Bound Adventure***,
available at the event! The book helps teach kids kindness and responsibility while supporting our rescue animals.

The new year doesn’t always start with big resolutions — sometimes it starts with showing up, learning, and doing something good together.

We were so honored to be part of the **Amazing Animals Event** on **Saturday, January 17th from 9:00–11:30 AM** at **Amazing Explorers Academy**, located at **5721 Hampton Pointe Blvd, Spring, TX 77389** 🐾✨

Sharing this special morning with families, kids, and fellow animal lovers reminded us why education, compassion, and community matter so much — especially for animals who depend on us every day 🐶🐱🦜

🐾 **Sushi is still with us** and patiently waiting for his forever home. He was *not* adopted out, and he’s still hoping 2026 is the year he finds his perfect family. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, Sushi would love to meet you!

🐶 **Exciting news for Bowie!** Someone has shown interest in her, and we’ll be preparing for her adoption interview/meet-and-greet day very soon. We’re hopeful and can’t wait to see where this journey leads for her ✨

As we ring in the New Year, we want to wish all of our amazing supporters a safe, joyful, and happy year ahead! 🥳✨

With fireworks going off tonight, please remember that they can be **very scary for pets**. Loud noises can cause animals to panic, bolt, and even **jump fences or break through gates** trying to escape. To help keep your furry family members safe, here are a few important tips:

🐶 **Bring pets indoors** before fireworks begin
🐾 **Close doors, windows, and curtains** to reduce noise and flashes
🎶 **Play calming music or TV** to help drown out the sound
🦴 **Give them a cozy space** with their favorite blanket or toy
🏷️ **Make sure collars and ID tags are secure**, just in case

Your pet’s safety means everything, and a little preparation can prevent a heartbreaking situation. ❤️

🐾 **Join Us for an Important Community Awareness Event** 🐾

Texas Homeward Bound Animal Rescue will be at **Amazing Explorers Academy – Spring** on **Saturday, January 17th from 9:00–11:30 AM** to help raise **awareness about responsible pet ownership**, with a strong focus on the **importance of spaying and neutering** to help reduce Houston’s unhoused animal population.

This event is an opportunity to **educate families and children** about compassion, animal welfare, and how small actions—like fixing your pets—can make a life-saving difference ❤️🐾

🐕 We will also be onsite with **Carmen**, our adoptable dog, and sharing information about how the community can support rescue animals in need.
