3 of the rescue dogs we have been boarding for months got adopted yesterday and two more are scheduled to be transported to out of state rescues in 2 weeks. We are so blessed to support our local rescue angels that need help with temporary housing for dogs they are trying to save. We have been providing support to local rescue groups for 28 years and have had over 1000 dogs and cats board temporarily with us while they waited for adoption or transport.
Please, if you own a pet consider spay/neuter.
If you are looking for a pet check out the hundreds of wonderful animals available in local rescue programs. We can testify that there are some really great dogs and cats out there that just need a second chance. Many are the most affectionate animals we have ever had the pleasure of caring for.
If you are not ready to adopt, consider fostering or giving a dog a day away from the shelter environment even for just a few hours. Most rescues offer all kinds of opportunities to provide enrichment time for dogs in their care. Just a few hours out of the shelter or kennel environment makes a huge difference in the week of a homeless animal.
