Dog Types

Alpha/Captain -
Dog that takes control of and leads the pack, disciplines pack members as necessary

Challenges:
Ignores owner’s commands, attacks another dog due to perceived threat

Beta/Sergeant -
Dog that backs up and assists the alpha/captain, steps up to alpha/captain role as needed, reinforces the alpha/captain’s direction

Considered the most stable, wants to please it’s owner, can switch between alpha/captain and beta role as needed, “neutral” to new dogs

Omega/Private -
Learning pack rules

Challenges:
No doggy manners
Tries be alpha/captian
Not able to “read the room” and doesn’t to follow doggy rules
Reactive to other dogs
Fearful of other dogs and humans
