It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Mary, one of the founders of Forgotten Paws and my mother.

Forgotten Paws was built by a mother-daughter duo who shared a passion for saving animals. Together, we dedicated so much of our time, love, and energy to giving dogs a second chance at life.

The past week has been one of the most difficult times of my life. Between grieving the loss of my mother and trying to ensure every animal in our care is safe, there has hardly been a moment to process everything that has happened.

I am beyond grateful to the incredible rescues who have stepped up, opened their doors, and welcomed our dogs into their care, allowing us to take a much-needed step back during this unexpected loss.

My mother dedicated so much of her life to helping animals, and knowing that her dogs are being cared for would mean everything to her.

🐾💕 SEPTEMBER RECAP — BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! 💕

We may be a little late sharing our September numbers, but we couldn’t let the month go by without celebrating some pretty amazing accomplishments!

September was another busy month here at Forgotten Paws, and our favorite part? 8 of our rescue babies found their forever families! 🏡❤️

Rescue isn’t always easy, and not every day brings good news, but months like September remind us that every bit of hard work is worth it.

Sweet Knox came into our rescue just last week, and he already has something incredible waiting for him — a loving forever home in Washington! 🏡✈️

Unfortunately, overnight Knox developed a severe cough, and it quickly became clear that something wasn’t right. He is currently at our vet being evaluated and treated, and we know he is dealing with a respiratory infection.

This was an unexpected medical expense that we simply weren’t prepared for, especially so soon after bringing Knox into our care. But when one of our dogs needs medical attention, we’re going to make sure they get it. ❤️

We are graciously asking for donations toward Knox’s veterinary bill so we can focus on getting this sweet boy healthy and back on track for his journey to the family already waiting for him in Washington.

How are these babies already 6 weeks old?! 🥹💕

Missy’s 7 little ones — 5 boys & 2 girls — are growing like weeds, and we are officially ACCEPTING ADOPTION APPLICATIONS! 🏡🐶

These sweet babies have now had two vet appointments and have been healthy and doing great! Today was another big milestone:

🩺 Healthy vet check
🐾 Growing, playing & showing off their little personalities!

🏡 They can begin going to their forever homes at 8 weeks old!

Bunnie is an adorable 1-year-old Schnauzer/Terrier mix who is looking for a foster home while she finishes her vetting and gets ready for adoption! 🏡💗

Bunnie can be a little shy when she first meets you, but give her a little time and she quickly opens up and lets her sweet personality shine. 🥰

She is heartworm negative and currently completing the rest of her vetting. Now she just needs a loving foster home where she can feel safe, get comfortable, and continue getting ready for her forever family.

We’re so excited to officially introduce our “Color” Litter and their beautiful momma, Missy! 💕

Missy welcomed 7 precious babies — 5 boys and 2 girls — on August 20, 2026, and these little nuggets have officially turned 4 weeks old! 🥹

Today was a big day for the babies because they had their vet visit! 🩺🐶 They started their dewormer, and the vet says everyone is looking very healthy! Their first round of vaccinations will be coming up soon as they continue growing.

And momma Missy is doing great, too! 💗 She is heartworm negative and will be spayed as soon as her babies are finished nursing.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing each of our little Color Babies individually — complete with their colorful names! 🌈 We can’t wait for you to watch them grow with us.

🐾 Meet Snoopy!

Say hello to Snoopy, our newest little bundle of cuteness, chaos, and ZOOMIES! 🤎🤍🐶💨

Snoopy is clearly still a young pup, and he has all the goofy puppy energy to prove it! He’s a funny, playful little guy who loves to run, explore, play, and keep everyone around him laughing.

Snoopy recently came into Forgotten Paws with no prior vetting, so we’re starting from scratch with his medical care. We’ll be getting him everything he needs to make sure he’s healthy and fully vetted before heading to his forever home. 🩺❤️

While we complete his vetting, Snoopy is officially ready to start looking for his forever family! We’re accepting applications now so hopefully his perfect people will be waiting for him when he’s ready to go home. 🏡

Leo is 8 months old and quite possibly one of the happiest, silliest boys you’ll ever meet. 😂❤️

This sweet boy is ALL about affection. He loves hugs, kisses, cuddles, and if there’s an available lap, you can pretty much guarantee Leo will be in it. And personal space? Leo has never heard of it. 😂 He’d much rather be right in your face giving kisses and soaking up all the love.

25 years ago today, our nation experienced unimaginable loss—but also witnessed extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and unity.

Today, Forgotten Paws pauses to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.

We also honor the incredible search-and-rescue dogs and their handlers who worked tirelessly at Ground Zero in the days and weeks that followed. Four legs or two, heroes came in many forms that day. 🐾🇺🇸

May we never forget the lives lost.
May we never forget the bravery.
May we never forget how our country came together.
