ATTACKED WITH A MACHETE!!!

Whoever did this to Chicho, should NOT be allowed to live in society! This is just sick!

WUWF wants to save him. He does not deserve to die at Barc alone. He needs to be loved and shown not all humans are as awful as the man who did this to him!

Chicho was picked up on July 31, 2025 after an animal cruelty report was made. Someone posted about him after observing the abuse, stating, “His owner beats him and just recently stabbed him with a machete”.

The notes from BARC:
This sweet guy was picked up after possible neglect/abuse was reported. He is heartworm negative but does have a laceration on his back and is positive for hookworms-see exam notes below. Despite the possible abuse/neglect he may have suffered, he has been friendly with shelter staff-see attached video.

Please, pledge at the bottom. If there are enough pledges we will save this poor guy. We also need a foster. He deserves so much better than this, and we are heartbroken at the thought of what he went through and the pain he is still in. Houston, Texas.

These poor babies were on the streets for over a year. The street life is all they knew. Gen, a street feeder, fed them for 13 months. She tried to find a rescue to help them, but had no luck. We also posted them a few months back. Everyone wanted them saved, but no one was willing to help foster them.

We posted a video of these two on Waiting Under The Willow‘s page. All we got from people were insults and negative comments. People telling us how we should’ve picked them up, and for Gen even blaming her for dumping them. So many awful comments from people who had no idea what they were even talking about.

Well, they are finally safe. WUWF ended up saving five dogs of the street. These 2 are at The WUWF Rescue Center. Everyone is spending time with them. They are teaching them to trust humans and that all people are not so bad. Especially after being dumped by their owners.

We have a lot of medical expenses and the plan was to pull two dogs out of boarding and bring them to our facility, but we realized these two were starting to get more comfortable around people, and cars on a busy road. We decided the chances of them getting hit by a car were greater. They had already made it through the last snowstorm and felt their luck was running out.

We need donations! Donations have been down over the past few months. Unfortunately, without help from the community, we cannot continue with the intake that we have had. We take dogs every day and Adopt them out daily as well. Please, consider donating. It all adds up. Thank you to everyone who supports WUWF! We couldn’t do it without you’ll!!

His owners moved away and left him behind. He waited at the front door, wouldn’t leave his home. His fur all matted and with skin issues.

Update 8-1… they are safe at The WUWF Rescue Center! After more than a year of leaving on the streets they are safe! Now just to teach them that all humans are not bad. We will work at teaching them what a leash is and what it’s like to be loved and cared for. They arrived last night after 7 PM and passed right out. They were exhausted. Updated pics in the thread. Thank you to everyone that had positive comments and I would appreciate anyone that can donate to help with their care.

Update 7-27… they are still out there. Some of these comments remind me why we have so many homeless dogs. All the critical, judgmental , ignorant comments being made by people doing absolutely NOTHING to help these dogs. Those are the people that never do anything to help save lives. They just sit on the sidelines giving their two cents worth. The ones that want everyone else to save the dogs, so that they dont have to be inconvenienced in their little lives. How sad. Gen has saved more lives than any of you put together. She has provided them, and many more with food. Instead of being kind and offering to help her with a bag of dog food (which she pays for), you’ll sit here and talk about her. Those doing making negative comments should be ashamed of themselves!! You are showing everyone what kind of people you truly are. The world needs more people like Gen and less people like you. Thank you Gen for all you do!!!

Update… dog was never seen again:(

I wake up every morning to the phone ringing and receiving text messages. All of them, with pictures of sad dogs wanting and begging for help. It is beyond heartbreaking. I feel for each and every one of them.

This morning, I received a call from one of our donors. She was in tears because there was a really young husky that was following her and everyone else around the trail at the park. The sweet boy was begging anyone to take him home. He followed five different families around the trail. She had to leave, as her dog is not good with most dogs and couldn’t put the dog in her car. The other problem being she didn’t have anywhere for the dog to stay if she did pick him up.

This sweet young boy is still out on the streets, and I would love more than anything to save him. If anyone is willing to foster him, PLEASE! He seems to be good with other dogs. He was more interested in going up to people and just ignored their dogs.

PLEASE, can anyone foster this sweet dog? She had to go to work but plans on going back to the park to look for him later this evening. She will also get some pictures. I’m hoping that, by the end of the day, I can find someone willing to foster this young boy. Houston, Tx.
