Prince Charming really is a fitting name for this dashing young boy! He was calm and quiet in his kennel, leashed easily, and was happy to trot next to me. He was treat motivated and let me snap some cute pics of him! He did well in his temp test with a dog of similar age.

German Shepherd Mix | Neutered Male | 3Y | 60 lbs | HW+

Mr. Chico is such a beautiful, handsome boy and he looks like he was well taken care of previously! He gives a lot of shepherd/husky vibes - he was easy to leash, easy to handle, and super sweet and affectionate in the runs. He is quite a chatty boy and lets you know exactly how he's feeling with little grumbles and whines here and there. He was growling at the dogs next to him at the fenceline so we did two tempt tests for him with a male and a female - he was a little bit growly so we did very slow intros and didn't push him. It's hard to fully assess in the shelter but I do feel like he got more comfortable over time, and he seemed really excited to go up to the dog but then would get overwhelmed and growl. If he does live with another dog we definitely recommend slow intros and giving him some time to decompress before introducing. This breed can really struggle with the stress of the shelter environment, so I'm hoping someone takes the chance on him outside of the shelter! Chico is looking for his forever family! I just know he's the sweetest, cuddliest boy❤️

Luna is stunning!!! Another volunteer asked me to temp test her so I gladly took her out! With a little treat bribery I was able to capture how pretty she is. She did great on her temp test, walked well on a leash, and easily went back into her kennel!

This little guy is so handsome I couldn’t resist taking him out! At the time I had no idea that his intake note was that he was found laying next to his deceased mom. I cannot imagine the trauma this little guy has gone through in his short life and was still so happy go lucky. He was a fun puppy who knew how to sit and was very respectful of the two adult male dogs he met during a temp test. He would throw himself down into a sit so dramatically it was adorable! He is apparently injured although that didn’t stop him while I had him out, this little guy deserves a chance.

🆘 LIL BRITTLE is on the euthanasia list FRIDAY, 8/1🆘 

💙🐶 LIL BRITTLE -
Boxer/Plott Hound Mix | Spayed Female | 1Y | 29 lbs | HW+

I need all hands on deck because my FAVORITE girl at BARC right now has hit the euth list! This girl is perfect. They named her lil brittle which I think is a terrible name so we've been calling her peanut brittle because at 29 lbs she is the teeniest tiniest little peanut. She leashed up and walked outside easy peasy and then when we got to the runs she just immediately laid down and sunbathed😭 she's SO chill and laid back. She sat and posed for some pictures and the second a treat comes out her little tail goes rapid fire. I wanted to get more photos but I was worried about her getting too hot since she spend the first 15 minutes outside just baking in the sun🤣 We did her TT with a big German Shepherd and my girlie held her ground, not intimidated by his size. Then I tested her with a lab girl who kept curling her lip at her and Brittle immediately gave her space and was being really respectful with approaching her. When I went to put her back in her cage she went in no problem, and I even took her out later to introduce her to a potential adopter and she came out of the cage for pets and then went right back in it without a fuss! A perfect angel with no behavior notes - I just have a feeling that translates to outside of the shelter too sooooo who's fostering or adopting this perfect girl👀 This little peanut deserves to make it out of the shelter and be absolutely spoiled, I just know she's going to be such a good girl!

I’m Banana’s biggest fan, I LOVE this girl!! She put the best puppy dog eyes on in her kennel and patiently waited for me to leash her. Outside she was soooo much fun, she is such a good puppy! She’s still easily excitable but isn’t super jumpy and wasn’t mouthy. She was such a good girl I used her to temp test 3 different dogs, she wanted to play but could sense when that wasn’t the vibe. Banana was the highlight of my day when I met her and I haven’t stopped thinking about her since.

German Shepherd Mix | Female | 1Y 1M | 44 lbs | HW-

I'm devastated to see Kora girl on the list so early - she's only been at the shelter for two weeks! She's listed as a year but I wouldn't be surprised if she's younger than that because she gave big puppy vibes, but was also soooo well behaved for a shep puppy! She walked calmly on the leash and just followed me around everywhere I went, curious to meet new people and dogs. When we temp tested her with another dog she was super playful, bowing at them trying to get them to play. In the runs she was adorable and would plop her butt down into a sit that would morph into a lazy puppy sit with her legs splayed out beneath her. She's absolutely stunning and so eager to please and full of love for her humans. I hope that someone sees her and gives her a chance because I believe she has the potential to be a really good dog!

Jack is such a cutie pie and he was SO excited to be outside in the runs. He was definitely working off some kennel energy and was running around chasing the birds, but once I got him to focus on me he ate for his photoshoot and left absolutely no crumbs (literally and physically). He will need some basic training on manners and how to work on his jumpiness, but I'm hoping that will settle down once he's out of the shelter environment. He was very dog friendly on his temp test - a little bit too dog friendly where he tried to play with the other male who did not appreciate a paw on his neck - but that will just be part of him learning his manners. There doesn't seem to be a mean bone in this boy's body! He's just a bulldozer of happy, friendly energy that's hoping to make it out of the shelter and find his forever!

🆘 SARAI is on the euthanasia list TUESDAY, 7/29🆘

Staffordshire Mix | Female | 1Y 6M | 58.6 lbs | HW-

If you're looking for the wiggliest girl in the shelter right now, that is happy happy Sarai girl! I think four volunteers met her and that's just because she immediately won all of us over. She was at the front of her kennel wagging her tail so hard and giving me excited tippy taps. And I don't think that wiggling ever stopped or that her happy enthusiasm ever diminished. Truly just the sweetest girl, happy to be along for the ride wherever you take her! She did amazing on her temp test with another dog and had really relaxed body language the whole time, unbothered by the dog jumping in her face and another volunteer accidentally running into her. I tried to get pictures of her and she was soooo wiggly it was a bit difficult 🤣 But we managed and we even did an impromptu photoshoot later (captured by bristexastails) to fully show off how hard it was to get this girl to stand still for a photo. I love her soooo much and I hope she can make it out of the shelter! She's going to really brighten up the lives of her future family ✨
