📢 Important Announcement – Christmas at the Ranch Race Canceled

With the current EHV-1 outbreak, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Christmas at the Ranch race scheduled for December 20th. We know we’re still over a month away, but we would rather be overly cautious than play any part in allowing this virus to continue to spread.

The safety of our own horses and the horses of every contestant will always come first. We are praying for all the horses affected and for the owners working tirelessly to give them the best chance possible.

All of our wonderful vendors have already been fully refunded.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding, patience, and support during this time. We’ll be ready to kick off the new year on February 7th with our Rose Run, and we hope to see everyone back with happy, healthy, and well-rested horses!

New update: We have now been told there was a horse at our race Saturday that has tested positive for EHV-1. Meaning if you attended Thursday or Saturday at our Future Stars race your horse was potentially exposed.

Update on the current EHV-1 outbreak:

We had a handful of horses attend both Waco and our Future Stars jackpot. At this time, we are aware of one confirmed positive case and another symptomatic horse pending results. Both horses competed during our Thursday slack.

We’re not here to create panic, but this virus is extremely contagious and can take a horse downhill fast. Please take this seriously. Stay home, monitor your horses closely, check temperatures twice daily, and contact your veterinarian with any concerns.

Keep our friends with affected horses in your prayers—this is a tough situation, and these horses mean everything to their people. It’s a stressful time for the whole community.

Huge kudos to the producers who have already made the call to cancel. It’s a difficult choice, but it was the right one that all of your contestants thank you for!

We’re just over four weeks out from Christmas at the Ranch. We’ll make a final decision in the next week or two, but if this continues to spread the way it has been, you should expect a cancellation.
