Mounts are art, and like any art, they age. Without climate control, dryness can cause cracking and splitting, extreme temperatures can release the fat in your hides which leads to fur and feather loss, and pests like dermestid beetles can destroy years of craftsmanship in weeks.
UV light can cause fading and discoloration of fur, moisture swells and warps hides, and invites mold and mildew to grow. Even clean trophy rooms aren’t immune to invisible threats.
