Great info!
Yearly heartworm prevention is a must.
A monthly pill to keep a pet heartworm negative is cheaper than an expensive and painful treatment on a heartworm positive dog. It’s literally the difference between life and death. Contact your vet if you have concerns.

Sasha is currently accepting applications!
She came into animal control and was in danger due to her medical and behavior. So, I made an exception and pulled her. She finished her basic vetting and then finished her heartworm treatment last month and is almost off of crate rest.

Tom (chocolate) and Jerry (blue) are interviewing for a family.
They would love a home either together or separate. They’re both big, sweet boys that came into rescue when their owner/breeder passed away.

I dropped off the girls for their first heartworm treatment injection. They were both rescued from BARC. They had 100mg gabapentin an hour ago. So they’re already a little loopy.
I’m having brunch and will pick them up in about an hour and then let them rest at home.
They’ll be available for adoption soon!

She has been waiting in foster care for 3 years for a family of her own.

The one-eyed fosters rarely get adopted as most people want the "perfect" dog. But Harley is perfectly "imperfect" 😍
She was a breeder release since noone wanted to buy her after her breeder got out of breeding minpins and doodles and started breeding frenchies. But it worked out great for her... no more popping out puppies for profit 🤑

Roscoe appt this afternoon. He’s had some random vomiting and losing weight. So just wanted to get things checked out even though he had everything done a few months ago.
We redid bloodwork, urinalysis, abdominal X-ray and ultrasound. They thought that something looked off with his gallbladder? Added a special panel to check that. Otherwise, nothing too obvious and it was hard to tell with a stomach full of food. Got some cerenia just to be safe.
He’s still spunky with a great appetite. So, we’ll just wait for the bloodwork results to come back. Sweet old man ☺️
I wish more people adopted seniors.

ADOPTED!
Wednesday’s family drove in town today to meet and adopt her. It was love for everyone involved.
Wednesday was picked up as a dumped breeder. She healed from her spay etc a few weeks ago and was prepping for heartworm treatment.
Her new family wanted her and arranged with their vet to proceed with her heartworm treatment.
