Three friends, with different skills and compatible styles, and with a strong, common desire to save lost, neglected and abandoned Schnauzers, pooled their resources and worked together to form Schnauzer Rescue of Texas (SRT). The three Directors leveraged a collective fifteen years of rescue experience to create an organization with one singular purpose – putting Schnauzers in loving homes. SRT w

as organized with a belief that responsible rescue can be rewarding and fun…and can match loving homes with countless Schnauzers when everyone pulls in a common direction. A leap of faith was taken knowing there would be those who would volunteer their time, their resources and their homes to help create a growing network where Schnauzers could be loved, and healed if necessary, as they await that perfect individual, couple or family to bring them to their forever home. SRT is a non-profit, 501c3 organization. Donations to the organization are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. No one in the organization is compensated for their efforts with the exception of the feel-good compensation of knowing the impact that committed individuals can have when focused on a common cause! Every penny we receive goes toward our unwavering mission. Whether as an adopter, a volunteer or by helping us financially, we hope you’ll experience the energy of being part of Schnauzer Rescue of Texas. IN A HOME. KNOWING LOVE!

Foster help needed

Lo**ta was found on the 3rd near Humble. We are still hoping to find her owners. She is very young and playfull (still has her puppy teeth). Our intention is to look for her owner before bringing her officially into the rescue if needed. Are there any APPROVED fosters that can help in the interim? Please no adoption requests at this time.

Currently in Montrose.

I'm looking for a new home!

I'm Tutter, a male combination poodle, schnauzer and golden retriever who is about seven years old and weighs about twenty-two pounds with natural ears and tail and I'm in Boerne, TX. My owners contacted SRT to help find me a new home which would be a better fit for my energy level. I've grown up with children, but am described as a bull in a china closet so best not to go to a home with small children. I'm a dominant pup who wants to play with other dogs even if they don't want to play. I'm also living with a cat and want to play with her too, but she doesn't want to play either. So depressing. I do fine at both the groomer and the vet. I'm looking for a home with an active owner and no small children. I can be stubborn so need someone who is an experienced dog owner. If approved to foster or adopt and you want to help me, contact [email protected] or apply on the website at www.SchnauzerRescueTexas.me

I need a foster

I'm Oryo a male white and black Miniature Schnauzer mix who is under two years old and weighs about sixteen pounds. I'm house and leash trained and good with children and other dogs. I haven't been around cats so not sure how I would do with them. I love toys and hugs. I was rescued from a family who were not taking care of me by a nice person who was taking care of them and they contacted SRT to help find my forever home. Fosters/adopters if approved, send an email to [email protected] if you can foster me until I can get "fixed". Apply on the website to foster/adopt at www.SchnauzerRescueTexas.me

I need a foster!!

Hey everyone, I've been living the hard life, homeless for about six months and it's a wonder I survived as I'm only about ten pounds. My name's Loretta, and even though I have a microchip, it wasn't registered. I went to the vet to get all my vaccines and fortunely seem to be in good shape considering. I'm in Houston and would love a foster home. I'm about 7 years old, friendly and good around other dogs. I was super easy to groom and bath. I will need a dental after I have had time to recuperate. Can I come take naps at yours?

Approved fosters/adopters, if you can help, contact [email protected] or apply to foster/adoption on the website under the adopt tab --- www.SchnauzeRescueTexas.me

Can you believe my new mom, Reagan, is a veterinarian. I'm going to get the best care ever. Plus, she has an extended family of schnauzer lovers so I'll always have a companion when I'm not going to work with mom. At, SRT, it really was All About Me! Hugs - Lindie (now Layla).

PS: Lindie/Layla was one of SRT's serious medical cases with traumatic injuries to her pelvis but her surgeries were successful so she can now live her best life. ❤️

I need a foster in the San Antonio area

I'm Coco, a 7 year old, 18 lb mini schnauzer who would like a new home without any toddlers running around. They stress me out way too much. I house, crate and leash trained and I do fine with smaller dogs. But as we schnauzers tend to think we are big dogs, I think I can take on the big ones. I do fine with cats. My current owner grooms me at home, but I do fine at the vets. I'm already neutered and up to date on on vaccines. If you are an approved foster/adopter and are interested in helping me, contact [email protected] or to apply to adopt or foster to go www.SchnauzerRescueTexas.me, click on the Adopt tab and complete your application.

Meet Oscar Mayer, a delightful 3-year-old Yorkie mix with a unique look and an even more charming personality! We may not know exactly what his lineage holds, but his long-bodied frame paired with classic Yorkie traits make him one-of-a-kind.

At 19 pounds, Oscar Mayer is the perfect size for both cuddles and playtime. He bonds quickly with his humans and thrives on companionship—he’ll be happiest right by your side, whether you're relaxing at home or out for a short stroll.

Speaking of strolls, Oscar enjoys short walks, but the Texas heat can be a bit much for him right now. He’s wonderfully social and playful, and his bark? Well, it might just be the quietest, most adorable thing you’ll ever hear—it’s almost an inaudible squeaky sound! We are unsure of his prior living arrangements as he was found as a stray, but he seems to potty outside on command when he is leashed. He got a summer buzz cut since he desperately needed a groom, but don’t worry his coat will come back quickly.

Oscar Mayer has had his shots, dental and neuter is ready to find his forever home. He would be fine with other dogs, but loves extra attention so would make the perfect single dog family companion.

Please apply for Oscar at www.schnauzerrescuetexas.me if you are interested in a very bonded buddy.

Our Rescue Pups Need You!

As shelters across Texas are overwhelmed and our volunteer pool is smaller during the summer months, fostering is more crucial than ever. By fostering you help to ensure a schnauzer finds a loving, best-in-class forever home in a safe and humane manner.

The rescue provides all medical care, flea and heartworm prevention, a collar and a leash for each pup. Kibble is provided upon request or in the event the dog is required to be on a special diet.

Visit www.schnauzerrescuetexas.me for more information and to volunteer or adopt!
