Scout's Honor rescues animals from city pounds, including animals from various animal shelters in the Houston and surrounding areas. Scout's Honor also takes in animals living on the streets. We do not limit our program to healthy animals or particular breeds, and we often save animals from abusive situations. Scout's Honor provides these beautiful creatures with a second chance to be placed in lo

ving, permanent homes so that they can receive the love and attention they sorely deserve. Since our formation, Scout's Honor has rescued over 900 animals and currently has over 80 dogs and cats in our program! Scout's Honor's rescue program is "foster based"; that is, each of the animals we rescue is placed in a temporary foster home, where it receives much-needed love, care, and structure while it waits for its permanent home. We could not exist without our wonderful foster parents. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent or in learning more about fostering for Scout's Honor, please click on our "Fostering" link and read more! Unfortunately, Scout's Honor is unable to take in each animal about which we are contacted. We simply do not have enough money, fosters, or other necessary resources to help all the stray and neglected animals in the Houston area (and, believe us, there are an overwhelming number of needy animals in Houston!). Our ability to take in a dog or cat depends on our current funding, our volunteers, and whether we have an available foster home. Many times we are forced to close our intake when we run low on any of these. We never wish to turn away an animal in need, but sometimes we do not have the luxury to choose. If you wish to help us better our ability to help a needy animal, visit our website, www.scoutshonor.org and click on our "Volunteering," "Fostering," and "Donate" pages and see how you can get involved! We have the most amazing dogs and cats in our program! Indeed, we are almost a "one-stop-shop" for any type of dog you might want. At any one time, we have all different types of breeds and mixed breeds—from small to large. And do not forget about our kitties! We have them from short haired to long haired (and any length of hair in between). Visit www.scoutshonor.org and click on our "Available Pets" link to browse through all of the animals in our program. You can find out more about our adoption policies and download an adoption application at our "Adoption Info" link. Please browse our wonderful dogs and cats and consider adopting one today! Thank you for considering adopting a rescued animal and for taking the time to view our page and website to see how you can get involved in helping Houston's homeless animals. They need you.

🚨 XENA NEEDS A FOSTER BY THURSDAY!🚨

Sweet Xena is still in desperate need of a new foster, and we are running out of time. We have until Thursday to find her somewhere to go, and boarding is absolutely NOT an option for this girl.💔

Xena has been doing SO well in her foster home, but unfortunately, her foster needs to leave to care for a friend who is having surgery and cannot take Xena with her.

And we learned something new about our girl! 🥹 Her foster recently babysat a small Chihuahua, and Xena was completely fine with them! Xena may not be interested in playing with other dogs, but she has shown us that she can peacefully be around them. So if you already have a dog, please don’t count yourself out—we can absolutely see if Xena could be a fit in your home! 🐾

Xena is an older girl who really just wants a comfortable place to relax, be loved, and continue thriving. She has already come SO far, and the last thing we want is to disrupt all of that progress by putting her into boarding.

PLEASE consider opening your home to Xena. We can provide you with anything you need to make fostering her possible. We just need someone willing to give this sweet girl a safe place to land. ❤️

⏰ Deadline: THURSDAY
🏡 FOSTER NEEDED ASAP
🐶 Can potentially live with other dogs!
❤️ Supplies and support provided!

Please share, tag your friends, and help us find Xena somewhere to go. She needs us right now.🥺🐾

Look how AMAZING Miss Xena is doing! 🥹💕 This sweet old lady is absolutely **thriving and loving life**, and seeing her looking this good makes our hearts so happy!

Unfortunately, **Xena is in need of a new foster ASAP.** Her current foster needs to leave to care for a friend and sadly cannot take Xena with her, so we need someone to step up for this precious girl. 🏡

Xena has been getting spoiled with ground turkey, eggs, fresh food, and lots of love—and **we can help keep that going!** When we first pulled Xena, she was in such terrible condition that we weren’t able to properly temperament test her with other dogs, so we still don’t know exactly how she feels about them. What we DO know is that Xena is an older lady who is **extremely sweet, loves attention, and is perfectly happy just chilling and soaking up all the love.** ❤️

🐾 **Have another dog?** We can absolutely arrange a meet and greet to see how they do together!

🐾 **No other dogs?** Even better—you can absolutely foster her!

We just don’t want this sweet girl to lose the comfort and stability she has finally gotten to experience. She has come **SO far**, and she deserves to keep thriving in a loving home.

**PLEASE consider fostering Xena! We need a new foster ASAP!** 🙏🏼💕 Even if you can’t foster, sharing this post could help us find the person who can.

🚨 UPDATE ON LUCIOUS — STILL MISSING🚨

We received a text this evening from someone who believes they may have seen Lucious near Montie Beach Park, around Edsee St. and W. Patton St.

We immediately drove over and searched the area, but unfortunately, we did not see him. We will be back every day looking, but we desperately need more eyes out there. 💔

If you have any time tonight, tomorrow, or any day until Lucious is found, PLEASE consider driving around the area, walking through the park, and keeping an eye out for him.

It has been almost a full week since Lucious went missing, and we are absolutely heartbroken that he still hasn’t been found. Before coming to us, Lucious had already been through so much in his life. He deserves to be found. He deserves to feel safe. And most importantly, he deserves to be back in a home where he is loved.🐾❤️

🙏 PLEASE HELP US:
• Share this post everywhere you can
• Drive around the Montie Beach Park area
• Walk through the park and surrounding streets
• Keep an eye out under porches, bushes, cars, and anywhere a scared dog may hide
• If you see him, PLEASE let us know immediately!

Even if you only have 20 minutes to look, it could be the 20 minutes that brings Lucious home.

PLEASE SHARE. PLEASE LOOK. PLEASE HELP US FIND LUCIOUS. We will not stop searching until he is found. 💔🐾

🚨 LUCIOUS IS STILL MISSING🚨

We still have NO confirmed sightings of Lucious.💔 If you are anywhere in or around the Heights area, PLEASE keep your eyes open for him. Check while you’re driving, walking your dogs, or out in your neighborhood. He needs to come home to us.

Unfortunately, we have also been receiving scam messages from people claiming they have seen or found Lucious and then asking us for money. Please, please be truthful. Lucious has already been through enough in his lifetime. Using his disappearance to try to scam people is heartbreaking.

We are asking our community to continue looking, sharing, and keeping an eye out. Even if you think you might see him, please take a photo if possible and contact us immediately. DO NOT CHASE HIM— he is extremely scared and may run.

We will NOT stop searching until Lucious is found.❤️‍🩹🐾

Transport Help Needed for Lucius Tomorrow, Thursday, August 13th.

Lucius needs to go to the vet to have his skin checked out as it’s causing him a lot of discomfort. He needs a ride from boarding Fondren 5 Star Pet Resort (14420 Fondren Rd., 77489) in the morning to be dropped off at Washington Heights Vet (2324 Shearn St., 77007) and then a ride back to boarding later in the afternoon.

Can you give Lucius a ride to and/or from the vet? Email us at [email protected] if you can help Lucius!

💙🐾 **Meet Cooper!** 🐾💙

How handsome is this boy?! 😍 Cooper is a **4-year-old Doberman with his natural ears AND tail**, and we think that makes him even more handsome! 🥹💙

Cooper came to us from BARC after being let down more than once and, heartbreakingly, finding himself on the euthanasia list **twice**. But Cooper’s story was never meant to end there.

Cooper is truly such a COOL dog. He wants so badly to please his people and be the best boy he can be. Because humans haven’t always shown up for him, it takes Cooper a little time to fully understand that he is safe. He isn’t timid or scared—he’s just uncertain at first. He *wants* to trust you right away, but he needs someone who understands that trust can’t be rushed. 🤍

And once you understand Cooper? You see just how AMAZING he really is. Everyone who has taken the time to truly understand him and what he’s been through absolutely adores this boy. 🥰

Cooper is looking for a dog-savvy forever home with someone who has experience with dogs and understands boundaries, structure, and patience. He would do best in a home **without young children and as the only dog**. He has done well with female dogs, so he can absolutely have doggy friends—we just think he would thrive being the one and only pup in his home. 👑🐶

Cooper is currently in a foster home and doing GREAT! 🎉 Now he just needs the final piece of his story: **his forever family.**

This boy has been let down enough. He deserves someone who truly gets him, respects him, loves him for exactly who he is, and shows him that this time, he’s HOME for good. 🏡💙

✨ **Let’s find Cooper’s forever home!** ✨
