So we would like to know your thoughts on the gate between plantation and Gou hole? Should it stay locked or should it stay open? Who has the keys, who makes the choice? Why is it when construction is going on Gou hole side can’t access through the gate but plantation side can?? Just wanting to get everyone’s thoughts?

Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that during the late night hours of July 7, 2021, Deputies with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office were notified about a possible missing person.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a white female had not been heard from for approximately ten days and family members notified the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office of their concern because they had not heard from her for an extended period of time and she had missed her prenatal doctor’s appointment.
Criminal Investigations Division Detectives began assisting with the investigation and went to the 7700 block of FM 3180 in Chambers County, Texas.
Detectives conducting the investigation obtained a search warrant for the residence where they discovered the body of the female inside an apartment at the location. It is believed that the female has been deceased for an extended period of time.
Chambers County Precinct 6 Justice of the Peace Judge Larry Cryer arrived on scene and pronounced the deceased; an inquest and autopsy have been ordered.
The investigation is ongoing and any updates will be posted to this page.

I-10 has been cleared.

HAPPENING NOW
Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a suspect in reference to a theft that just occurred from a construction site in Winnie, Texas.
The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated. With the assistance of Texas DPS Troopers, spikes were successfully deployed and the pursuit was brought to a safe stop near the 802 mile marker westbound on Interstate 10 in Cove, Texas. Traffic is starting to build up. Find an alternate route if possible.
Deputies and Troopers are working quickly to clear the scene.
