Curious about the road conditions? It's natural - not all gravel roads are equal. Porter Creek can be rough at times, but the county does an excellent job of maintaining them. We rarely have washer board problems for more than a week before a crew is out to repair it. But we do recommend coming in via Porter Creek instead of driving the length of Pioneer Road. Pioneer is 4 miles of gravel, whereas Porter Creek you only get 1.5 miles. And hey, slow down out there! ;)

Although no dogs were flying high, the discs sure were as we wrapped up Clinic #2 in this Intro series to disc. Aria is already counting the days to the next clinic (details coming soon), but I’m still waiting for the ice to revive my throwing arm! Thanks to everyone who came out - it was great to share my passion for disc with others and make some new friends in the disc community.

INTRO FRISBEE CLINIC: This is one of the exercises we'll be working on during our disc clinics next week - it teaches hand / eye coordination, and is just plain fun, too. Haven't signed up yet? There's still time. You can choose from the Monday, May 26th morning clinic from 9am to 11am, or the Tuesday evening clinic from 6pm to 8pm. Want more practice? Come to both! This Intro clinic will teach you how to throw, whether you're looking to start competing or just throw safely to your dog in the backyard. We'll also work on grip techniques, and other practice drills. This is the first of a series of clinics that I'll be offering for disc skills, and the only one for humans only, since our time is short and we have a lot of disc skills to learn… If you can't do either clinic, but would like to do a private lesson, just let me know. Exclusively available at CPCR, we have cleared away the toys and now have summer garage parking available for all renters at no additional charge. So for those who like the convenience of working / crating out of their vehicle, feel free to use the right hand RV bay to park out of the sun. If you’re a good parker, and come with friends, you should be able to park 3 cars inside. If you’re not a good parker, please have good insurance before backing out!! 😉

INTRO FRISBEE CLINIC: I recently retired from the Purina Incredible Dog Team (aka Purina Pro Plan Performance Team) after 18 years of performing with my dogs. There are many things I loved about the sport, but I remember most the uncertainty when I first started (no lie: my best friend seriously told me to NEVER throw a frisbee to my dog EVER, because I was SO BAD at it the first time I attended a clinic!!). So I would love to share some of the knowledge of disc that I gained with those who are interested. INTRO TO FRISBEE SKILLS: 2 hours, humans only, $20 Venmo or Zelle to reserve your spot. This first clinic will focus on how to throw safely, practice techniques, grip techniques and more. The reason we don't do dogs at the first clinic is that there is so much to learn about the disc that you'll be too busy to work with the dog until the next level clinic (coming soon). Each participant will receive 10 free discs that are meant for safe disc play and approved for disc competition. Here are two dates I'm offering the same clinic, so just choose one: May 26 9a-11am OR MAY 27 6p - 8p.
