Blue Green Algae is toxic to dogs and unfortunately quite common in the summer months.
Use caution when allowing your dog to play or drink in any body of water.
High mountain lakes are the most likely to be unaffected, as well as swift moving water.

If in doubt, keep em out.

To the family with the eight week old hard biting puppy who resource guards; the family with the dog who did EVERYTHING right and still got bitten; the family whose dog started to hate other dogs at a year despite going to daycare everyday; and to so many more. Instead of focusing on the concept, “ Adopt, don’t shop,” shouldn’t the focus be on each family picking a dog who is the right fit for them? There is room for lots of choices on how we choose to grow our pet families, just as there is for how we grow our human ones.

Sourcing dogs from ethical, responsible people and organizations is crucial, regardless of where you get your dog. There is no way around it. Not all breeders are responsible. Not all rescues or shelters do right by their animals. Be smart. Do your research.

ps. For the record, I have adopted 3 dogs and a child. My next dog is coming from a reputable breeder.
