Rocket is a shy, sweet 1-2 year old cat who is looking for a permanent home with a loving family who can give her the time she needs to adjust to living with people. Rocket loves being petted, chasing a laser pointer, watching birds, and eating freeze-dried chicken treats. Because Rocket wasn't socialized with humans when she was a kitten, she is too scared of new people and new environments to be adopted through the regular process. We know from our own experience with Rocket that she is a social and affectionate cat who would be happy in a home, but she will need a lot of patience and love to adapt to her new family.

Rocket first came to us as a mother with two week-old kittens. Rocket was so terrified at first that she got into a corner of the ceiling we couldn't reach and didn't come out for days. But as Rocket grew comfortable in our home and with us she started coming up to us and wanting to be pet. After Rocket's kittens went up for adoption, the Humane Society told us that she was too scared of people when she was in the shelter to be adopted through their usual channels. We offered to continue to socialize Rocket and try to find her a good home, because we had seen what a sweet cat she really is.
