Is your horse dropping hints that they need bodywork?
Since horses can’t exactly text us, “Hey, my shoulder feels a little tight today,” they communicate through their movement, behavior, and performance instead!
Your horse may be asking for a little extra support if you notice:
✨ Stiffness or shorter strides
✨ Difficulty bending in one direction
✨ Grumpy faces during grooming or saddling
✨ Taking longer to warm up
✨ Trouble picking up a lead
✨ Uneven muscle development
✨ Less willingness to move forward or stretch
✨ Changes in attitude or performance
✨ More tail swishing, pinned ears, or tension than usual
One sign alone doesn’t always mean something is wrong—but those little changes can be your horse’s way of saying, “Hey, pay attention to me!”
Bodywork can be a wonderful addition to your horse’s regular wellness team alongside proper veterinary, dental, farrier, nutritional, and saddle care. The sooner we listen to the whispers, the less likely they are to become shouts. 🤍
What is your horse’s favorite way to tell you something isn’t quite right? 👀
