Updated pictures of hand’s down one of the most stunning puppies from any of our litters. Many Goldendoodle breeders attempt for years with their pairings to produce the specific genoset to produce phantom Goldendoodles, much less Merle phantoms whose tan points are INTENSE (9-10/10 Intensity).
In order to produce a phantom, a puppy MUST inherit a copy of At from each parent and a Ky from each parent. Which means each parent has to carry at least one copy of each. In addition, you have to have at least one big dominant E so those tan points aren’t hidden by an ee recessive red coat. There are several things that have to magically come together in just the right way to produce a phantom puppy. Especially in Goldendoodles as the phantom gene has to be introduced from the poodle side over generations. While Libby Lou’s breeds for health and temperament before anything else, the genetics and challenges that come with that are part of what we are passionate about. We could talk for days about genetics.
We had initially contemplated holding Echo back for our program, but after much prayer, reflection and running the genetics with our girls, we decided that we would make him available to the right home. In addition, we know we will hopefully have another similar to him in the future and with a smaller litter we feel it is the right thing to do to not hold him Back. If you are seriously interested in a Goldendoodle unlike any other, don’t wait to reach out as I am anticipating he won’t be unreserved for long!
