Six years ago, Cupid was born at Lambs End Farm. She had a small heart shape mark on her knee. Over the years she has been a superb mom keeping close supervision over her lambs. During our 2019 lambing season, she birthed triplets and raised them like it was the easiest task in her world. Quirky little Cupid earned the right of retirement and will live out here days on the farm.

😄😄 What an honor 🤣 For only $199.99 you too can be the Best of Hodges in 2020! I guess they didn't get the memo that we retired. I think I'll just crop the picture and add it to our scrapbook. The perfect ending to a perfect business! 😉🎉

I am stuck. What about a background? White does not show off the goats to their best advantage. Do I just do a color? Do I do a blurred image of a barn scene? Ideas welcomed. Reference photo by Bonny Snowdon.

2020 mark's a new direction for Lambs End Farm. Our breeding program began in 2012 and with select breeding and careful culling, we produced a beautiful flock of healthy, good temperament, and beautiful sheep. Our 2019 flock was exceptional. We sold 4 breeding rams. And, our ewes and ewe lambs were sold to a farm that is building their breeding program and recognized the quality of our sheep.

This will be our 2nd retirement. We are keeping a flock of 14, made up with some ewes we retired, 5 wethers from 2019 lambs, and a few special ewes. They are an easy going group and have proven to be the right choices for a training flock.

Lambs End Farm will now be just for fun...working dogs, sitting in the pasture watching sheep graze, enjoying farm life light, and more. It has been a wonderful experiment and my inner farmer feels very gratified.

My newest adventure is fulfilling my inner artist. This must be my Grandma Moses phase. To see what I am up to, check our Patsy Sirman Fine Art. Hope to see you there!

New directions for the farm. Tuff finally gets a training flock he can work with any time. We are past time for polishing his skills. He is a happy boy.

After checking the wild grape crop, we headed to the creek to check the water level and flow (low and still 😥). Then up above the pond. We kept the pace slow since we are all out of shape.

Very pleased to report that we sold this special fellow yesterday as the first breeding ram for a start up farm. The buyer was amazed at his quiet temperament. He will serve them well as their foundation sire. That makes 4 breeding rams we have sold this season. Credit goes to their "daddy," Red, now living the good life in Georgia.

Metal roofing material did not come in today so porch will be finished on Monday. Very pleased. It looks like my plans. Once the wood seasons a bit, I will be painting it. Love my big, wide steps and porch is 8 ft wide.
