Pawsitive Progress: Dakota’s Leash Training Adventure 🐾✨

During this session, we focused on introducing Dakota to leash walking with a series of engaging drills! We started with the leash circle drill to encourage smooth movement and build confidence. Then, we practiced the start, stop, and sit drills to establish control and responsiveness. Our grandma walk drill helped Dakota get comfortable walking calmly by our side, making it easier to fix and adjust him at a slower pace.

Since Dakota has prior experience with an e-collar, we seamlessly incorporated leash corrections using the e-collar, which made the training process much more efficient. Dakota did an amazing job! Our main goal was to help him feel at ease on the leash and eliminate pulling, paving the way for relaxed, enjoyable outings.

Looking forward to more progress as we continue building those leash skills! 🚶‍♂️🐶

Mazi’s Parkside Progress: Enhanced Stays & Recall Skills 🐕🌳✨

Mazi had an exciting training session at the park! We progressed to going off leash more quickly, focusing on refining her stays and recalls with a blend of exercises. Building on what we practiced previously, we aimed to improve her responsiveness and reliability.

To add an extra challenge, we brought along a distraction dog, which helped Mazi stay focused despite the tempting distractions. We also moved to a new area within the park, providing a fresh environment to keep her engaged and adaptable.

Striding into the Future: Marti's Intermediate Leash Walking Session 🐾🚶‍♀️

Marti's training session was all about taking her leash walking skills to the next level, preparing her for her upcoming first public session. To achieve this, we moved on to intermediate leash walking drills, further refining her skills and building her confidence in a variety of situations.

One of our staple drills, the fast-slow drill, was put to the test to help Marti understand and respond to changing pace cues. We also practiced sharp turns and U-turns, both walking on the inside and outside of her owner, to simulate real-life scenarios and help her develop the skills necessary for a seamless and enjoyable public experience.

By incorporating these drills into her training, we're confident that Marti will be well-prepared for her public session and will make a great impression. We're excited to see her progress and look forward to sharing her success with you! 🐾💕

Off Leash and Unleashed: Piper's Park Day Adventure 🌳🐾

Piper had an exciting training session at a local park. This session was all about Piper, focusing on her obedience skills and recall in a new, open environment. Equipped with a long leash, we put her through a series of challenges that put her training to the test.

We ran variety of recalls and her command responses and their implied stays. The park's open spaces allowed us to simulate real-life situations, helping Piper develop the confidence and skills she needs in new and unfamiliar areas.

We incorporated a bit of everything into this session, from basic commands to more complex exercises, all while keeping the fun and engaging atmosphere of a park day.

🚶‍♂️🎯 Thorin’s Focused Training Session: Mastering Calm Greetings 🐾

Thorin, our spirited pup, has been working on managing his reactivity towards new people. To help him stay calm and focused, we dedicated most of the session to greeting exercises. We ran a series of drills where a stranger would drive up or walk up to the house. During these moments, Thorin was instructed to focus solely on receiving commands from his owners, which effectively diverted his attention from the approaching person.

We had Thorin in a down or place position, maintaining steady eye contact with his owners, instead of fixating on the new individual. While Thorin stayed in his position, we had the “stranger”—which was us, the trainers—walk up and around him, even intentionally brushing against his tail while he remained downed. This helped him become more comfortable with unfamiliar people approaching and moving around him in a controlled manner.

To finish the session, we worked on the "come" command, incorporating the implied sit, to ensure Thorin could respond reliably even with a stranger present. This exercise is helping him build confidence and stay focused in unpredictable situations. We would have Thorin come to us and sit for us now that he is becoming more comfortable with our presence.

Celebrating a Milestone: Shgur, Shaq, Sheriff, and Shadow's Training Graduation 🎉

This session marked a significant milestone in the training journey of Shgur, Shaq, Sheriff, and Shadow. After months of hard work and dedication, these four canine companions have officially completed their obedience training. We couldn't be prouder of each of them for their progress and commitment to learning. 🙌

As we wrapped up our final session, we took the opportunity to review what's next for each dog, acknowledging that their individual quirks and goals require tailored attention. Given the unique dynamics of each pup, we focused on the specific needs of each to ensure their continued growth and success.

The main focus of our session was on Shgur and Sheriff, as these two dogs have a history of aggression towards each other. To ensure they continue to behave when around each other, we worked on exercises that promote calmness and respect.

Meanwhile, Shaq and Shadow have made tremendous strides in their obedience training . They've demonstrated excellent skills in basic commands, and we're excited to see them continue to grow and develop in the coming weeks. To maintain their momentum, we discussed strategies for continued practice and reinforcement at home.

As these four amazing dogs graduate from obedience training, we're committed to supporting them every step of the way 🐾💕. We'll be working closely with their owners to address specific needs, provide additional training and guidance, and celebrate their continued progress.

Congratulations, Shgur, Shaq, Sheriff, and Shadow, on this incredible achievement! 🎉 We're honored to be a part of your training journey and can't wait to see the amazing things you'll accomplish next.
