Hey everyone,
First, I owe you all a huge apology.
As many of you know, I’ve been working through some major behind-the-scenes challenges since stepping into this role. Unfortunately, I inherited quite a digital puzzle.
Several of our essential accounts, including Venmo, PayPal, QuickBooks, and Facebook, were originally set up using former employees’ personal emails and passwords, which left us completely locked out of critical tools and information.
The biggest challenge by far has been our page.
Over the past several months, I’ve spent countless hours trying to gain full administrative access to the page under the shelter’s business account. Seriously… It’s been “days” of work just dealing with Facebook.
I’ve filed three separate admin disputes, provided documentation, followed every step they requested, and devoted entire weekends trying to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, despite all those efforts, I’ve continued to hit one roadblock after another.
I also need to give a special thank-you to our amazing team member, Kaitlyn Ewing. She currently has partial access to the page, and she’s the only person who can publish our posts, including my Friday updates. Although she was originally scheduled to leave on May 31st, she agreed to stay a little longer to help me work through this situation. Thanks, Kaitlyn!!!
Sadly, my Facebook admin dispute attempt #3 was unsuccessful yesterday.
Because of that, I’ve made a decision I truly did not want to make: we are launching a brand-new page for the shelter, one that I currently have full admin access to and can manage reliably moving forward.
I know it’s frustrating to be asked to click “Follow” again, and I’m incredibly sorry for the inconvenience and confusion.
Please know that I’m not giving up hope on recovering the current page, and I’ll continue pursuing every possible option behind the scenes. I just have no idea how long that will take.
In the meantime, we need a dependable way to stay connected with all of you, share adoptable animals, celebrate success stories, and keep everyone informed about important updates.
Updates like this: We are open to the public every Monday beginning June 15, and expanded evening hours are planned for July (if not sooner). So it’s critical that we ensure those updates reach everyone without interruption while I battle with Facebook.
Thanks so much for your patience, understanding, and continued support during these awful growing pains. Your kindness, encouragement, and dedication mean the world to us… and even more so to the animals who depend on us every day.
Please take a moment to follow our new page and help us spread the word.
