My sweet Loretta. 💔

This morning our friend Kristie arrived to feed everyone and found Loretta down. The vet was actually scheduled to come out later this afternoon, but thankfully was able to come much sooner.

Dr. Lawlor confirmed choke and managed to push the blockage through, but we are still very concerned about possible damage, aspiration, and pneumonia. She isn’t out of the woods yet.

A HUGE thank you to Dr. Lawlor, Dr. G and their staff! You guys are amazing!

We’ll be checking on her throughout the night and praying hard for our girl. 🤍

Thank you doesn’t even begin to cover it. From the very beginning, you’ve been there every single day, showing up, helping, encouraging, and believing in this rescue even when it was just an idea and a lot of hard work. This journey would not be what it is without you. Your dedication, heart, and constant support mean more to me than I can put into words. I’m endlessly grateful for you and for walking this path with me from day one. 🤍

Kristi and my daughter, Hannah, were the ones who first saw Harlee, a little grey pony at the sale barn who appeared to be pregnant and immediately tugged at their hearts. They knew she needed to come home with us. Thankfully, due to her age and condition, she was not pregnant, but she was scared, timid, and in need of patience and understanding.

From day one, Kristi has gone above and beyond, giving Harlee extra time, attention, and so much love. Yesterday, she even took her home so Harlee could decompress on her own and receive true one-on-one care. And she is absolutely loving it. Because of Kristi, Harlee now has the space, safety, and kindness she needed to begin healing. 🤍
