It never ends. Backyard breeders are still at it in full force. Look at the condition of this precious tiny girl who was pregnant past her due date! Look at her spine and her hips! How can humans be so very cruel to intentionally impregnate her and then allow her to become so emaciated and then she gets away and is found on the street like this abandoned. No one is looking for her because of course they’re not. They would have to explain her condition. I have to seriously reconcile my heart and the feelings I have when I see these precious babies abused and used like this. I pulled her from the shelter yesterday 3/31/26 and took her straight to the vet for a Csection. Her reverse progesterone indicated she was overdue and knowing that she isn’t the most healthy, putting her under is a huge risk but we didn’t have a choice. As always I’m so grateful to Dr Amy at Antony Animal Hospital as she has always been available and fair with her pricing. We don’t pull healthy adoptable dogs. Pretty much all of our dogs are a mess and need immediate and complex care and she has been nothing short of amazing. In rescue, your vet is a lifeline and we couldn’t do what we do without her. End result…a mama and her five precious newborn angels are doing well and beginning the rest of their lives. We have four girls and one boy. They’re adorable and regardless of the circumstances we are blessed that they are ok and with us. I’ve been up all night trying to get mama to bond with her babies and keeping them latched and their heating pad on (it’s on a 3 hour timer). I’m tired and grumpy but grateful and blessed. Please pray that she takes to her babies once all of her anesthesia wears off and she’s feeling better because I simply cannot stay up all night every night. Also, she needs a name. I am feeling less than creative at the moment
